Sofie Laguna is a lawyer by training and a writer by choice. She writes for children and adults alike.

Her children's books have been named Honour Books and Notable Books in the Children’s Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Awards, and have also been shortlisted in the Queensland Premier’s Awards. She has been published in the US and the UK and in translation throughout Europe and Asia.

Her literary fiction for adults is much acclaimed. The Eye of the Sheep (2014) was awarded the Miles Franklin Literary Award in 2015, and One Foot Wrong (2008) was shortlisted for the Prime Minister’s Literary Awards and longlisted for the 2009 Miles Franklin.

The Choke, her third novel, was published in 2017.
