We’ve been growing, learning and figuring things out behind the scenes, and I wanted to let you in on what’s coming next:
🌟10 episodes per season - with the bulk being guest stories.
🌟We need more guests! If you’ve got a story of addiction, recovery, healing, faith, redemption or starting over, I’d love to hear from you. And if you’ve know someone who should be on SSS, send them my way!
🌟YouTube? 👀 I’m considering taking SSS to YouTube as an audio-only podcast, using our visuals while keeping the anonymity that is important to me and the podcast.
Most importantly, thank you 🤍 For every listen, follow, share and message.
And maybe it’s your story that someone needs to hear next 😊
In part 2 of this conversation, Vanessa shares what happened after she admitted she needed help.
From rehab to relapse, replacing alcohol with other addictions, and searching for meaning in different places, she discovered that sobriety alone wasn’t enough. The real transformation began when she surrendered her life completely to Jesus Christ!
Today, Vanessa is pursuing her Masters degree in the UK, living intentionally and boldly sharing the hope she had found in Christ.
This episode is a beautiful reminder that His Grace is always greater.
Your story isn’t over. Redemption is still possible🤍
In Part 1 of this episode, Vanessa shares how a painful breakup at 19 became the beginning of a journey she never expected.
What started as occasional drinking in her early twenties slowly became something much bigger. As the years passed, alcohol moved from social settings into solitude.
Grades slipped, relationships suffered, and the consequences became harder to ignore. There were arrests for drunk driving, a devastating accident that nearly took her life, and a growing dependence that seemed impossible to escape.
This is her story 🤍
In Part 2 of this episode of Annitah’s story, we continue the journey from survival to surrender.
After years of battling substance abuse, hidden drinking, emotional pain, unhealthy coping mechanisms and repeated cycles of destruction, Annitah shares what happens when she finally stopped running and fully surrendered her life to God.
We talk about faith, motherhood, purpose, restoration and the decision that changed everything on June 2nd, 2023.
Today, she is sober, intentional, mentoring young girls and boldly walking with Christ. 🤍
In Part 1 of this episode, we hear the beginning of a deeply personal story shaped by addiction, trauma, survival and searching for belonging.
What started as childhood admiration slowly turned into patterns of substance use, rebellion and pain that steadily escalated.
From running away at 14, to struggling with pills, alcohol, an abusive relationship and depression-this episode explores the messy reality of what happens when coping slowly becomes dependency.
This is a story of honesty, reflection and the beginning of awakening 🤍
In Part 2 of Kendi’s story, we move into rehabilitation, a place of structure, struggle and unexpected grace 🍃
Healing didn’t come instantly. Old patterns lingered, faith felt distant and surrender was slow. But in a quiet, defining moment, something shifted. Faced with what once controlled her, the desire was suddenly gone.
This episode is about awakening, not through force, but through grace. About how God meets us gently, even when we aren’t looking for Him.
A story of surrender, transformation and a life now anchored in Christ.
In this episode of Soft, Sober Strength, we begin Part 1 of a story that challenges the timelines of how addiction is “supposed” to escalate.
She grew up in a stable home, surrounded by provision and opportunity. On the outside everything appeared normal, even great. But quietly, addiction was taking root. What started as patterns and tendencies slowly grew into isolation, escalation and loss.
This episode explores the early unraveling, the moments before things fell apart, the hidden struggles and the loneliness that often accompanies addiction long before anyone notices.
Part 1 invites us to sit with the beginnings
Part 2 will take us deeper into surrender, reckoning and God’s grace.
If any part of this story feels familiar, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!!! 🫂
By God’s grace, I’ve reached one year of sobriety 🙏 and this episode is a reflection on the journey it took to get here.
In this solo episode, I share honestly about what I thought sobriety would be, what it actually became, and the lessons God taught me along the way.
I speak to the woman I was one year ago, and to anyone listening who feels tired, unsure, or afraid of starting.
If He can carry me for a year, He can carry you for today. 🍃🍃🍃
Today I sit with a woman whose story is both heartbreaking and breathtaking. She’s a single mum, a DJ, and someone who has walked through some of the darkest valleys addiction can take a person.
From the wrong crowds, to identity confusion, to pregnancies marked by drinking, to health scares, heartbreak and suicide attempts - her journey is heavy. But through every moment, even the ones she didn’t want to survive, God kept her. He truly kept her.
This episode is raw. It’s tender, and it’s proof that even when we’re lost in darkness, God’s hand is never too short to reach us.
Her story is too full for one conversation, so this will be Part 1. I pray this episode reminds you that no one is too far gone for God.
In this episode of Soft, Sober Strength, we explore what alcohol really does to the mind - the fog, the confusion and the quiet healing that begins when the drinking stops.
I’ll share my honest reflections, simple science and the hope that God renews our minds one clear thought at a time. ☘️🍃🍁
