She also talks about talks about reading the angle of the softball off the bat so you know how long you have to get back to the bag and where you should go on what type of hit. Produced by http://Fastpitch.TV - In Leah O'Brien Amico's base running clinic part two she talks about getting a good turn and talks about good leadoffs. You can purchase softball bats at http://SoftballJunk.com. She talks about while rounding first base to look at where the softball is being thrown to take a good round of first base so you can get a good jump if the softball possibly goes wild. She talks about hitting the front corner to get a good push and to curve out a little bit to get the good angle of the base. The better the angle of the bag the runner takes the easier it is to advance a base. Amico also talks about the proper way to get a good lead and how a good lead will help you be quicker on stealing a base and more likely to be safe. She talks about the different footing you can use while leading off and the different advantages of each type. She talks about getting a good leap and staying in an athletic position while leading off so you can go either way after stopping. She recommends a three step lead of first base and stopping in an athletic position and a five step lead from second base because you have more time to get back. Produced by http://Fastpitch.TV - In Leah O'Brien Amico's base running clinic part one she talks about getting a good hard first step and hitting the front of the bag hard. You can purchase softball bats at http://SoftballJunk.com. Amico talks about how to get a good hard first step and to push off the ground hard. She also talks about pumping your arms opposite of the leg in the air. She says to make sure that your hands and body stays loose and relaxed. She also showed some running drills to feel and make sure that foot pushing off the ground hits hard and pushes hard. She also talks about getting out of the box hard. She says to finish your swing and get out of the box hard and running hard to hit the front of the bag. She really emphasizes hitting the front of the bag and not the back of the bag because you want to hit the closet part of the bag to you so that you can get there as quickly as possible and be safe as many times as possible. She also says that the more you work on hitting the front of the bag the more likely it will be to become natural and you will begin to hit the front of the bag nearly every time. In the long run it will help you win more softball games. To see Leah O'Brien Amico's bio, visit our website http://USAfastpitch.com.

To see her bio visit our website http://USAfastpitch.com. http://SoftballJunk.com is a great resource for fastpitch softball bats. Former Olympian Kelly Krentschman kindly took the time for an interview and admits that she actually began playing baseball when she was six years old all the way until she reached high school. She was forced to play fastpitch softball and making her a little upset for the reason that it was her dream to be a New York Yankee. She adjusted well and enjoyed her time playing softball leading up to her accomplishment of winning a gold medal! She mentions that being a part of the U.S.A. team was, at first, a bit nerve racking trying out along side her idols and trying to beat them out for spots on the Olympic fastpitch softball team. Kelly also coaches at a Triple Threat Softball Camp all around the country. You can check out more information at triplethreatsoftball.com. Kelly enjoys coaching at these softball camps getting young players a taste of what it takes to be an Olympian. Produced by http://Fastpitch.TV - Jennie Finch talks about her softball career all the way from the beginning to the end. She uses a softball bat that could be purchased at http://SoftballJunk.com. Finch started playing at the age of five after growing up watching her two older brothers play baseball. All though her dad was never her team coach he was her pitching coach her whole softball career. Finch's dad created the Finch Windmill Pitcher that young softball pitchers use to help them train and strengthen their arms just as Finch did when she first starting pitching at the age of 11. Finch later went on to play at the University of Arizona where she led her team to winning a National Championship her junior year. All though her team fell short her senior year the experience lead her to the opportunity to play for the National Team and to go on to win a gold and silver medal in the time she played with them. She had known since the age of 16 that she had wanted to be part of the National softball team and that she wanted to represent her country in the sport of softball. Finch also played in the NPF for the Chicago bandits where she recently retired after deciding that she wanted to settle down a little more and have another child. She now has two kids Ace and Diesel and is married to former baseball player Casey Daigle. Since her retire from playing she has become more involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) where she now is on the advisory board. She also has written a book Throw Like a Girl where she talks about the good and bad and everything in between of her experience of the game.

Produced by http://Fastpitch.TV - While I was at the NFCA Convention I interviewed former Olympian Tairia Flowers. You can see more episodes of our shows at our website http://Fastpitch.TV. http://SoftballJunk.com is an awesome website to find the perfect fastpitch softball bat! Former Olympian Tairia Flowers' fastpitch softball career actually began when she played boys soccer at age nine. Her mother decided she needed to play with girls and from then on she fell in love with the sport of softball. She enjoys the infield especially catching! In high school she was a catcher and played some third base. Her team went on winning a state title as well as many other recognizable awards. Tairia admits that although she did love the game of softball, but she really enjoyed the young ladies she played with and all the life lessons that she learned from her coach. In college Tairia transitioned into playing first base and outfield. Her time at college was well valued and she is still very close with her former teammates. Tairia describes her fastpitch softball career in one word.. "AMAZING!" She took great pride in playing on the U.S.A. softball team and enjoyed her time and success in the Olympics. She never imagined after the Olymics that she would be coaching, but she couldn't keep away from the love of the game and helping other young athletes achieve the goals that she once had as a former player. Tairia humbly admits that she was never the best player on any of her softball teams and that it takes hard work to maintain the mental and physical skill needed to be a part of such elite softball teams.

Produced by http://Fastpitch.TV - While I was at the NFCA Convention, I went to a breakfast. Leah O'Brien Amico was the guest speaker. http://SoftballJunk.com is an awesome wesite to find the perfect softball bat for you! Three time Olympian, NCAA All-American, and NCA Division One Champion Leah O'Brien Amico gives an inspirational speech at the FCA Breakfast. She speaks about passion and leadership and the way in which God has chosen her as well as many others to be leaders in the way that she and other play sports or coach. Leah knows of her higher purpose and explains that God wants people to be mentors or motivators to others so that they may do the same for someone else. To give the comfort of not only being a coach, but to be more involved with that player as mentor and seeing them as a person is the greatest gesture a player could ask for. That player will have more trust and more of a connection with their coach and team creating a strong front when faced with tough situations whether that be in life or in the game of softball.
