There's a war of words in the growing crisis on North Korea, with Donald Trump threaten the country with "fire and fury ... the likes of which this world has never seen before," and North Korea saying Trump is unreasonable and that they are planning strikes on the U.S. territory of Guam. This after the United Nations Security Council hit North Korea with steep economic sanctions. China, South Korea and other powers are caught in the mix. Our guest is historian Dr. Gerald Horne.

Raila Odinga, in his fourth presidential run, challenged incumbent Uhuru Kenyatta in Tuesday's vote. A local human rights commission has said it has found discrepancies between results announced by the governments election commission and paper forms signed at a polling station. Adding to the tension: last week, a senior election official in charge of voting technology, Christopher Msando, was found tortured and killed. Here to discuss this with us is Assumpta Oturu, host of "Spotlight Africa" on Pacifica Radios KPFK.
