The apostle Peter calls us “temporary residents in the world” (1 Pet. 1:1), but he was by no means the first to do so. In Psalm 61 King David refers to the fact that, whether he is at home or away from home, he is sojourning. But David reminds us that we have a constant companion, with whom we are always protected and “at home” as we do so.
