What’s up everyone! We’ve got prices going up, we’ve got volume up, and I’m having fun. I hope you are as well and I want to get into what we’re seeing. A couple things from relistening to last weeks’ episode that I want to change. It wasn’t the SEC that was charging CZ from Binance, it was the CFTC which was charging Binance and CZ. I don’t know why I was winging that when I could have just Googled it, but I’m learning over here! CFTC is the Commodities Futures Trading Commission and they are charging them with offering derivatives to US customers. It’s just another regulatory attack against exchanges. We’re going to continue to see this and need to stand up for our right to crypto. Also only y00ts had bridged last week, this week we saw the DeGods move.
* Solana Price Update: A review of the current price of Solana and its performance over the past week. Sitting at $20.72, up a whopping 3% with tighter range for the week of a low of $19.65 and a high of $21.50. It does seem to be catching little pumps from either BTC or Eth when they catch a bid. So I’m optimistic.
* Solana vs. Ethereum: Down to .01096 with a 5.7% decrease on the week. We’re seeing some action on ETH which had trouble breaking resistance at $1850. It broke that and we are sitting around 1900 and I won’t be surprised when it breaks 2k.
* Solana vs. Bitcoin: Sitting at .000742 which is a decrease of only 1.8%. So we’re tracking pretty well with BTC, which I still think is strong because I’m only expecting more strength from BTC. All I want is more BTC on Solana. FTX kind of f’d that up with their bridged BTC not being backed by anything. But Jump has bridged WBTC and it’s got some volume. I want more, and will fight for it.
* NFT Happenings: DeGods did the bridge, tons of volume in SOL though. We saw SolCasino mint and it quickly 2x’d from their 12 sol mint. Now it’s dipped down to 16 because they have shitty messaging and announcements that no one can understand. Oogy reveals this Friday and is still sitting at a good pump of 26.4 Sol. The Apes are back! Degenerate Ape Academy is getting ready for their release of their V2, and I forgot just how loud that community is. Good to see it, and the drops of the new art is immaculate. Mono is the goat. They are sitting at almost 62 Sol from dipping to around 40. Lily is also doing well, they had a snapshot for their airdrop and the marketing is only getting better. Famous Foxes continue to crush, I did some analysis of my bags and realized that I’m actually a Fox maxy and they are the biggest part of my NFT portfolio now. FFF’s at 66, TFF’s at 19. I bought some Toonies because they look sick, but they are tanking down to 1.8, so we’ll see if their deflationary tactics can get them a pump. Wolf Capital’s seeing a pump at 7.8, and I’ve been buying some Degen Poet 1/1’s because he’s freaking amazing. Gotta also give a shoutout to Cyber Samurai’s, I think their super undervalued, and Shake is a Goat. Their alpha channels are so legit. Also getting more and more pilled on the Monkey Baby Business, it’s the best discord I’ve ever joined and I get all my alpha from there now.
* The Queks are BACK! If you want a project that feels like an Eth project, no communication and you wait until a whale sweeps, boy we do we have a project for you! Ha, but I do like that they don’t have expectations or utility, liking this more and more because the expectations are getting ridiculous.
* SMB and MonkeDao continue to battle. This time HGE is b******g because he’s waiting 60 days to start doing work on the SMB project. So he said he’s not selling to MD, but I’ve seen other convo’s with Skelly and Nom have been productive. So who knows if HGE is being dramatic or if he’s calling it. Seems dumb and I want to sell, but I’m not.
* Still so bullish on the Solana Phone, releasing for public on April 13th! These have the potential to be a massive game changer for ALL crypto and couldn’t be released at a better time.
* Magamigos - a MAGA version of the popular nakamigo’s has dropped and I love it. I think we’ll see more of this and want to see it on Solana. I’m not a maga maxi, or even a Republican. But I live in the US and I believe in crypto. The democrats are literally creating an anti crypto army while all the pro crypto legislators are Republican. It goes to the nature of smaller government, less intervention, more freedom and at a time like this it couldn’t be better. Trump’s policies look better and better the crazier the current administration is acting. Him getting arrested is only going to get him closer to winning another election. Enough politics! I still think his collection is bullish, his wife dropped a collection on Sol, we could see growth in a Maga Monkey Business deriv. Even without any maga stuff, I think we could see a DAO on Solana being pro crypto and supporting those that take a stand. I actually think it’s necessary and if I can’t find some to support I’m going to build it.
* Closing Thoughts: Crypto’s use case is only getting clearer, we’re seeing volume, we’re seeing macro conditions that are scaring everyone, and Solana continues to be the fun chain. I think we need to focus on that, we can use this amazing technology for fun. With that I’ll leave you, hope you all have a good rest of your week and Happy Easter.
* Solana Price Update: A review of the current price of Solana and its performance over the past week. Sitting at $20.09 with a high of 23.30 and low of 19. Not looking great.
* Solana vs. Ethereum: Down to .01162, and the week looks like a steep decline from a high of .013.
* Solana vs. Bitcoin: Sitting at .000749 from a high of .00082. So overall I would say that Solana is underperforming the market. Do we see a pump?
* NFT Happenings: A roundup of the latest news, trends, and developments in the Solana-based NFT space. The biggest news is DeGods and y00ts are bridging! They are off Solana and are going to be punished if they don’t bridge. I don’t like that they are leaving and are all the sudden EVM maxi’s but that’s how Frank is going to to attempt to take over the NFT world. This leaves the door pretty open on Solana for other projects to take the spot. We’ve seen Famous Foxes pump, Clayno’s pump, Lily’s doing well, and we’ll see who wins. I think the whole community wins though because we don’t have to focus on the top projects on the blockchain trashing it. We now see projects getting noticed that are positive to the ecosystem. Monkedao passed their independence proposal and will be moving forward with the OMC mint of their new collection and within 2 months we will either be separated from SMB or the new owners. We need something, they were down real bad. Saw some sales in the 130 sol range, and nothing but fud on the timeline. Hoping that’s the end of that.
* DAO’s - it’s interesting to think about DAO’s. We want NFT projects to be businesses, but not when they are too businessy. We want to have a say, but complain when it doesn’t go the way of the community. Should a community really be in charge of the project? These are all things we are seeing right now and I don’t know what the answer is. Nom from Monkedao has been super freaking zen on this almost to a fault. He’s letting the community make the big decisions and going with it. Not making aggressive pump it to the moon, but reasonable, well thought out statements. I like it, but also want my bags to pump. But what I like is that this is going to be beneficial in the long term and he’s not sacrificing any of the values of the project in order to do that.
* End of Q1 and we will be getting our Solana Phones relatively soon. Quarter recap is one of resilience. No big players, just community. Bonk saved us and was community driven, I think the community that we have now is strong and we are seeing the good actors speaking up more. There has been so much negativity towards Solana, and I think only now are we seeing the community starting to fire back on the inconsistencies.
* User focus: seeing a lot of people calling for a Bankless for Solana and I’m pumped for that. But it seems like it’s a bunch of the developers and project founders that are stepping up. This isn’t it, we need users as the promoters of the chain.
* US Regulatory Crackdown: An overview of the recent regulatory crackdown on cryptocurrencies in the United States, discussing its implications for Solana and the broader crypto space. Binanace getting sued, Coinbase getting a wells notice and saying they will fight this.
* Closing Thoughts: A summary of the episode's key takeaways and a look ahead at what to expect in the coming week in the Solana ecosystem. Regulators coming at us, top projects leaving, Solana still working better and projects are only getting more useful.
What’s up everybody! I’m feeling the rush this morning and the energy is back in the Crypto economy. Bitcoin is having a renaissance and we are all going to benefit off of it. Traditional markets and finance are being tested and are getting scarier and scarier. Crypto isn’t the lifeboat, but it is alternate system with hope. My thesis is Solana plays a big part in this, but I want the theme of this episode to be how the sector is solving a problem, how the big picture comes together. This is how we make it. Going to try to get away from Twitter and charts for a bit to focus on this, honestly it’s addicting watching what’s going on.
Solana Price: 22.66 - with a low of $18.80 and a high of almost $24.00.
SolEth: .01255 - saw some pumps and dumps on this. Eth holding $1800 rn.
SolBTC: .000790- saw a ton of ups and downs, sitting at $28,710 and looking like up only.
I want to move on to some Solana cope I’ve been thinking about:
This kind of sums up the cope. Solana wins on 3, 5, and 6. Others are being worked on, but this is what we are up against. We saw Solana rip up and dump down like crazy, people making all sorts of crazy claims. But this is what it comes down to, and what people on the outside see. A fast NFT chain with a good user experience. A fun chain. But it lacks the rest. You won’t see people fleeing a USD crash to Solana, you won’t see tons of liquidity on defi protocols, and you can see 3 times the blockchain was halted.
FOMC going on right now, and expecting to raise rates by only 25 basis points, shifting from raising rates as they have been because they have broken many banks. We’ve seen 5 bank failures because they don’t have the reserves based on losses stemming from rates changing. Something like 200 other banks are at risk.
This leads to BTC going crazy and Balaji betting a million dollars that BTC goes to 1 million/coin in 90 days. He’s calling for a full collapse of the current system. It’s insane and not happening. BUT he’s not wrong to point out that there are major systemic issues. Bitcoin does solve a lot of this. Bitcoin will be a big player and benefactor of the current slip ups. Bitcoiners are insufferable, but seem to be right.
Counterparty risk - You keep your $ in a bank, they don’t keep your money in the bank. They loan that cash out to get more money back. It’s all good and dandy until they don’t make money or depositors want all their money back.
With Bitcoin you are out of the system and not relying on any institution. We’ve seen BTC go up 40% since these banks started failing and it doesn’t look like it’s stopping.
Balaji is a big voice, and the amount of impressions he’s getting for these bets is unreal.
From this, we will see risk assets go up. Fed saves banks, fed prints money to do so. Bitcoin up, crypto up, Solana up.
Solana will not be the primary mover here under this environment, and we have shifted to focusing on Bitcoin. This is not bearish for Solana, but the narratives around its value might actually be changing. It’s a fast nft chain that is user friendly. It’s down the risk curve from Bitcoin, but not that far. It becomes investable because of those features. Those features don’t bring in the value like they were.
The next billion users are not here for Solana, but the next billion dollars to invest in Solana might be here. It’s good enough for me, and we deserve a pump in price to save all the loyal degens for staying here.
Done with big picture, it’s changed, but it’s still bullish.
In NFT’s, Bitcoin Ordinals are here and I think it’s massive. This is bringing fun to Bitcoin, new development, new energy, and more importantly more users to the chain. Blockspace on Bitcoin is the most expensive blockspace, hands down. We are now using that blockspace for JPEGs. I’m in, I’m loving it, and I think that the most expensive JPEG’s belong on the most expensive and immutable blockchain.
I think we have to adjust to this, Magic Eden did and launched their Marketplace on Bitcoin. Wallets are better, I like Xverse, and Bitcoin is back in circulation.
Sol NFTs: We’ve got volume back bigly. Successful mints: Wolf Capital, Oogy, and B******s. It’s mint and print season baby. All doing well with Oogy leading the way and hitting over a 30 Sol floor.
Bullish on them and the Mad Lads coming up soon.
Current NFT meta: with Tensor taking over a lot of the volume it seems more and more like it’s a floor price meta. Mid rares matter way less than they did and you either sell instantly into an AMM at a small loss or sit and wait to sell at floor. Because of this I’m going to test out some raffles on Famous Foxes.
I think that NFT’s shouldn’t be overinvested in right now. Think about it, BTC up, Sol up, NFT prices down. So I am looking to divest some.
Been spending some time in Cyber Samurai’s discord and gotta recommend it. Top notch dao, underrated. They have charts, they have Ordinals talk, it’s stacked. Shake is dope and super smart.
Gotta talk MonkeDAO vs SMB.
They dropped their new proposal for the OMC collection and looks like it’s going to pass.
Why did they do this? They HAVE to. No royalties for SMB since December, new owner not working with them, they are essentially a high performing community pumping a collection for free.
Not sustainable.
The solution: drop a new collection, offer to buy SMB from Hades for 2 mill with the proceeds.
They don’t accept or no deal made in 2 months, we split ties. Launch OMC, pay the exec team and build out the best project for it.
I like it, it gets us out of limbo and has the potential for SMB to be the punks of Solana with whales owning them in Hades and gives a collection to MonkeDao to promote and crush.
Where it leaves my Monke? Bought in at 225, floor is 150ish. I’m down. I think I will be down more, but I’m okay with it long term. I think either way my bags get pumped and I’ll have a new monkey collection. I’ve already made the 225 back from being in MonkeDao through presale/wl flipping and getting in on Bonk early.
Either way, I’m bullish on the team, bullish on MonkeDao and bullish on Solana Monkey Business. We go up long term with either way.
Also forgot about Arbritrum airdrop, ship it.
Welcome, welcome to the 17th edition of Solana Weekly, this is Thomas Bahamas and as always, thanks for joining.
Solana price: $18.85 - Hitting a low of $16.13 and a high of 22, we’re seeing some volatility! Right now it seems to be in a bad way lets hope we can turn this around.
Sol/Eth: Sitting at .01157 - tanking a little. We’ll see how Eth holds up with the Shanghai upgrade. Bob Loukas calling for 30k Eth, so I’m ready for the supercycle.
BTC: Catching a bid, sitting at 24k, I’m adding in SOL BTC at .000778 because it’s leading the charge now and I’ll dig into why.
Primary news: So much. Silicon Valley Bank goes under, starting Friday morning while holding 3.3 billion of Circle's treasury. The problem with that is our trusted boomer stablecoin USDC was depegged and got down to $.90 because of it. Panic in the streets. They ended up bailing out all depositors and the peg is back. I wasn’t even watching the price of Sol dipping because I was watching my stables slowly die.
Bitcoin on a tear ever since. value prop has never been higher. I’m long.
The banking system is showing its cracks and our current financial system is being challenged. It’s not going down, but it’s going to open the door for crypto. Crypto is just better at a lot of things.
Regulators - coming for crypto, on ramps and off ramps are what they can control. Get on chain and they can’t. This is backlash from SBF making them look like a joke, he exposed their vulnerability of greed and did it with a full on ponzu scheme.
CPI print came in as expected on 3/14 and we're looking to go up for a while, it seems like Sol Price is moving with BTC and ETH.
Big mints - Papu, and B******s today, with Wolf Capital coming at you tomorrow.
NFT LA coming up next week, hoping for big news.
Expecting big news from Clayno’s, Degen Trash Pandas, MonkeDao always puts on a sick show, bonk hosting an axe throwing party.
I shilled Degen Trash Panda’s and swept a few, think they are a play.
Bonk is so f ing back.
Small shill for Crypto Duck Punks.
Holding onto support here and I’m hoping we can see us push through some highs.
Thank you for joining me for the 16th episode of Solana Weekly, this is Thomas Bahamas we’re going to dive into what happened this last week and what the long term implications are.
Solana Price - $19.00 and it kind of seems to be holding up, almost hanging on to support. Big week of news from fed, kind of feeling bearish. We saw some strength at 20, but broke through there and might be seeing the dip from the network outage.
SolEth -.0122 - we’re dipping vs Eth.
Tensor - bringing back the bull for NFT’s? Airdrop, liquidity, removing undercutters. What this means. We were under 70k Sol volume for NFT’s, and now we’re well over 100k with Tensor taking over 30% market share.
Overall NFT’s are looking great on Solana. Been loving SolSniper to track volumes and Tensor’s tools are so good. My concern with Tensor is that it literally turns NFT’s into altcoins with pictures. You can just sweep and insta dump without looking at the NFT. Can’t tell if this is the future or the end of the generative NFT collection being looked at as art.
Mad lads - wl claim 1st wave done. I think it’s looking super bullish and I haven’t seen a single piece of fud about them or the Backpack wallet.
Lily, clayno, geckos all pumping. Clayno’s really pumping.
Famous Foxes - over 70k/ week in revenue so bullish, they are looking real strong with FFF at 56, TFF at 18. I think they are so ripe for a pump. Also think they could do a Polygon tooling or drop and freaking crush.
Shout out to degen mints in Monke Dao, these mfs create degen mints if there aren’t any. Smol coin, bidets, screen shotter fractionalized, worms, mug shawty’s of hot mug shotted women. The hustle doesn’t stop.
Monke dao voted down the release of their omc collection. Taking a week to recoup. Floor price seems to track back around 200. I think they were rushing everything anyways.
Nft LA coming up - Monke Dao party set, heard Clayno will do another drop.
Sol defi: Down horrendously, TVL is bottom of the food chain and now below some chain called “defichain.” Sucks, but we need to rebuild. The value proposition of defi on Solana is super high, but the market is not supporting that. The market is not valuing it this way, so we’ll see if it’s wrong, or if the uptime issue is a game changer.
Eth Denver just finished up, cringy songs but looked like a good time. Seems like the price didn’t tank massively, bullish.
All quiet on the bonk front.
Wallets - backpack is all the rage, also glow wallet is sick and probably the best mobile wallet. You can make any photo into an nft and use ai to generate pics.
Ledger continues to suck with Solana and their latest update not connecting to phantom wallets. Leaving the door wide open for a better solution.
Solana Phone - Q1 is ending soon and we should be seeing an announcement about availability. Saw a Bankless guy posting about issues with Uniswap not being able to get their wallet approved on Apple and went to say Solana Phone solves this, but it had already been raided. This is going to be a game changer. I still want to see some sort of sick defi way to fund the phone. Like lend Sol, borrow USDC, pay off monthly. I might just do something like that myself to talk about it.
Bitcoin available on Solana, WBTC is back from Jump. Could this add to defi TVL? Yes.
GBTC - Greyscale going to battle with the SEC, I think in order for the whole crypto market to heal we need a win here. Seems like they came out on the offensive and we saw the discount vs btc increase over 10% because of it. I think this is bullish for BTC and trickles down across the whole market.
Thank you all and as Bunjil from Lily says all the time “Let’s get this s**t.”
What’s up everybody!? This is Thomas Bahamas and I appreciate you joining in for another weekly update on our favorite blockchain, Solana!
Solana goes down for almost a full day. Went down during a software upgrade. It seems like once it was completed there was an issue with transactions finalizing so it triggered a stop to preserve the state of the blockchain. Which was never lost, and there were still voting messages going through at this time something like 200 tps (which is more than most still.) But they ended up fixing it after almost a full day.
Solana price didn't really react to it, sitting at $22.22.
SolEth dipped a bit to .01352 as Eth has been showing strength versus the entire market.
MonkeDao - voting for independence from Hades.
Lollipop - in the middle and proving the value of governance tokens.
Sol Defi - taking a hit from an outage and good faith from users. Sharkyfi scrambling to not liquidate borrowers.
Lily - showing strength in a low volume market. Positioned well.
Include Degenerate Trash Pandas, Critters, and Dandies based on the Lily bullish case.
MadLads - Their Madlist dropped, mine is not coming through, but I’m super bullish on this whole drop. Claim it in backpack, and big news that Backpack is open to everyone, any invite code will now work.
Sol Price: Just popping over $24 - started week off around $20 and peaked over $26. We’re still ranging, it is looking like we’re might have more ways to go down based off of traditional markets kind of nuking.
SolEth - .01466 - Staying pretty close to Eth, whole market is slowing down a little.
Magic Eden Volume: Down bad, at 77,134 Sol for 24 hours. Slow down in full effect. Kind of across the board. No exciting mints right now, no big movers. No idea how DeGods and y00ts have 30k of that volume. Jump conspiracy?
Solana’s speed in innovation is in full effect: Eth currently seeing the royalty debate in full effect. Blur is rewarding users, stealing market share from OpenSea.
NFT talk - what creates a successful project? What has worked short term vs long term? Community, burn, rewards, memes, communication, alpha.
Crytpo Duck Punkz - your likely not exposed enough.
Famous Foxes- upgraded my TFF, it’s sick, Zen0 did the upgrades, I’m super bullish.
Citrus Lending protocol on FFF, iterating on Sharky, much better options for borrowers. Doesn’t have the same depth of liquidity, but it’s coming.
Polygon has surpassed Solana in volume on NFT’s. But it’s all wash trading so it doesn’t really matter. How should cryptocurrencies compete?
Tiplink - just raised 6 mill and released a sick project. Want to get someone into SOL but don’t have a good way? Create a link which is a Solana Wallet. All they have to do is click and claim and they are onboarded.
Altcoins: Cooldown as well, RLB dipping some, I’m hoping for season two of Bonk soon, but nothing yet. Dust is pumping, but I’m just over it.
Interesting problem on Solana: we need users to make money. This is people working in the ecosystem, this is investors, this is NFT enthusiasts. I feel like so many more people have gotten hosed from Solana because they bought in at the top. The cycles on Solana are just too damn quick, we almost need to slow it down. There is nothing wrong with people making money and we need to change the mindset on this one. I don’t even know what sector of the ecosystem makes the most money.
As always, this is Thomas Bahamas, thank you for stopping by!
I tried to record last week but I was at the beach and it sounded terrible. So we’re bringing an episode with two weeks of alpha shrunk into one.
Solana Price - Ranging, we are at $23.50, hit as high as $26, and dipped down to just under $20.
SolEth - Sitting at .014, not bad.
Toly on Bankless, gets a fair shake.
SMB bought out by HGE and given to HadesDAO, in spite of MonkeDAO negotiations. Gotta dive into that. Overall it’s good for holders, unbelievable opportunity for Hadeswap, kind of shitty for all the contributors to MD.
Gambling! We talk Rollbit, SolCasino, and how this is hitting product market fit on Solana. I don’t think it’s going away.
Altcoins: RLB, Bonk seeing some rise, Hades seeing a dip.
Wallet Security - up it, Kevin Rose hacked for 2 mill +, we got tons of great solutions.
NFT’s on Bitcoin? That’s right.
Tooling on Solana - ZachXBT bashes it, hopefully Mert from Helius saves us.
DeGod’s Female Deriv - the Solana NFT lifecycle in a week. Pump, rug, de rug, pump. amazing.
Regulation - Binance US and struggle with USD deposits, Kraken lawsuit for 30 mill in regards to staking. Decentralized staking becoming vastly more important/ appealing. Have to talk Lido protocol and how important they are.
Balaji new podcast - legend, and his importance on the last cycle was massive.
Feels like a little bit of a more normal week, nothing exploded, no major rug or hack, price went up and down. It does seem like we’re ready for a big move. FOMC just dropped and we only got a 25 basis point raise so we’re seeing a little bit of a pump. Couple new mints happening and NFT market seems like it’s slowing down a bit.
Solana Price - currently at $24.46. Not bad. We dipped down to 22, and shot up to almost 27. Seems to me like there is still a good demand for Solana even if markets are looking scary. I still think we have more upside on the token because of what’s being built out on the protocol side and the crazy use cases that are being built out.
Sol/Eth - sitting at .015, steady.
Bonk - kind of slowing down on the meme coin, I still have hope. We saw a launch of the Solana Bonk Business NFT and it caught legs, topping out at around 7 Sol. They were pixelated and kind of fun. Not as hyped up as the Bonkz NFT, but they were fun.
Bonkz had their magic reveal. You burn your placeholder NFT and get your Bonk NFT. There were a bunch of sick 1/1’s by top artists so everyone wanted one. But they revealed and TANKED. They are under 3 Sol and pre reveal was at 16. So not a good look. When I did the burn process it errored for me, so it was a bad look. There are 15k of these and a lot of the attributes weren’t that well done with floating arms and the like. Shouldn’t have done 15k, should have just done the 1/1’s. Kind of a flop, cute PFP’s but meh.
Pirate Squad minted today and is doing really well. I had a presale and it was 3 Sol, currently over 7.5 Sol. The idea of play to earn with actual games is pretty cool and I’ll probably hold for a while.
Overall outlook on NFT’s: kind of bearish short term. The royalties thing is coming back up again with the different royalty enforcement contracts and marketplaces only allowing certain ones on their platform. Kind of bs, just figure it out. Magic Eden has too much power. The other part is while Solana is either pumping or dumping in value NFT’s will take a dip in floor price. It’s kind of BS, but it’s true. So I kind of want to derisk some NFT’s at this point, but will also be looking for some long term plays if the floors do dip far enough.
One NFT project that fits this bill is the Degenerate Ape Academy. No idea why they aren’t higher and I don’t keep track of them. But they just released a game, they are releasing V2 with upgradable traits, I’m just kind of bullish on them long term. They are one of the first projects on Solana, hilarious, they do a bunch of crazy s**t and their floor price has been down only. Worth keeping an eye on.
Meme coin update - Smol seems to have calmed down. Dabloons is an interesting one. they are only releasing their token to stakers of their NFT’s. I think it was a free mint, I bought couple and staked them. You get like 200,000 tokens/day/NFT for the next 7-10 days, and it’s a couple bucks a day. We’ll see how it goes, I’ve got a couple staked.
Good listen: Benny Bitcoins on Logan Jastremski Pod - talking BD on Solana and their BD strategy. Love it, it’s to help facilitate projects and help them thrive. Not bankroll them like Polygon. Seems like a super reasonable guy, not very pushy an dnot shoving Solana/crypto at you.
Solana price -dipped down to $21, sticking in the range around $24 now. Steady, not pumping too hard and keeping our nft values up there.
SolEth .015 - steady light gains against eth.
Aptos caught a freaking bid - over a 3x, bad launch but seems to have more legs than we thought.
Couple topics I want to cover:
Overall why it’s so fun to root for Solana :
You don’t have to be cheering the end of the world in order to pump your bags. Btc, even eth is guilty of assuming they are going to take over because of how shitty everything is.
Solana is more like let’s play NFT games, dog coins, you can use our network with dollars and it’s cheap and fun.
I quite like it. When you say the fun chain it’s because we aren’t trying to replace things, we are rethinking what you can do with blockchain based on innovations.
Wallet security -
The great Kevin Rose hack must be talked about. Huge fan of Kevin, him and Tim Ferris have a pretty big influence on why I’m in crypto so to see him get his vault wallet drained to the tune of 2 mill is terrible.
It goes to wallet security, he signed one malicious transaction and it drained his wallet. Even if it was a hardware wallet this could have happened. We have to do Better.
This isn’t an eth thing, this is a cross the board. Until there are better solutions we have to do what we can to protect ourselves. Hold multiple wallets, multi sig wallets, hardware wallets, use the damn horcrux method where you don’t have everything on one wallet.
Wallets are free!
Toly challenged Armani to build a cold wallet that can’t interact with smart contracts and can only send to wallets and he did it in a day. I’m going to revisit back pack and do what I can.
I use a ledger for almost everything. But it’s not good enough. Will be splitting everything. Up.
