  • Solana Weekly #49 - IT'S HAPPENING!!!

What’s up everyone this is Thomas Bahamas and you are here for another episode of Solana weekly.

Solana - $60, that’s right we’re pumping. Topped out just under $70 and what did I call? 69 by 2024. It’s on the table.

    SolEth - crushing - .0296. Is .1 feasible?

    Solbtc - crushing - .0158

Now we gotta talk about the market crushing. I’ve been doing this podcast for a year and we’ve been buying coins and pictures that have been mostly going down lol.

What do we do here? We follow the trade and don’t get out too soon. High conviction trades working out? Push the trade.

    Airdrops!

    Pyth. Crushed.

We’ve got Jupiter’s airdrop coming too and I think this is going to be massive.

Jto - details released today, that’s right Jito dropping us coins baby.

Airdrop checker - there’s an amazing tool out there to see if any of your wallets qualify, no only do they have additional airdrops I wasn’t aware of, but it look like they are adding new ones as they come up.

    https://solana-airdrop-checker.solworks.dev

These drops are basically throwing gas on a fire, injecting liquidity into an already booming ecosystem. I’m so bullish.

The ducks. The quekz. We’ve been talking about these for a year, and they’ve launched.

Stay strong, follow your convictions, don’t panic and make sure that you’re doing what you can to make the best decisions with where we are at.

  • Solana Weekly #48 - Align With The Pump

What’s up everyone this is Thomas Bahamas and you are here for another episode of Solana weekly. Here to breakdown what’s going on the evolving crypto ecosystem and figure out Solana’s place in it. Solana is making its mark in the space and rocketing up in price.

Sol price: $42.68 Up 11.15%. We. Can’t. Stop. The. Pump.

SolEth: .02263 Up endlessly and we hunt that .1 target.

SolBtc: .0012 Up almost 8% on the week.

    Price talk- excellent.

What does excellence in crypto look like?

The main characters of the space are pretty much out of the spotlight or incarcerated.

Moving passed ftx and Sam is going to the slammer.

Node battle with eth. Solana $300/ a month vs Eth validator on a raspberry pi. Don’t really care.

Or narrative battle with eth in general.

Breakpoint aftermath, seems like everyone got covid.

    Sollinked won the huge competition.

Degen dads actually minted through sollinked. A delightful experience overall. Send some cash and a description of what nft you want and get a sick custom pixelated nft in return. Couldn’t be happier.

Armani and backpack exchange. Own the experience in one app.

    Bonk. BONK. BONK!!!!

Not getting too caught up in narratives.

Not over trading and overthinking the market.

Duration trading - ensure you are looking at the long picture if you’re planning on holding for the long term.

    Jupiter - airdrop details, perps.

  • Solana Weekly #47 - Up Only!!!!

    We’re so back.

What’s up everybody, this is Thomas Bahamas and you are here for another episode of Solana Weekly. Where it’s my job to find the biggest stories of the week and try to figure out the implications of what we’re seeing. We are seeing so much up only and I am having a great time.

I would like to say that this episode is brought to you buy the massive pump of Bonk and the absolute chad holders at Quekz. Both are the quality assets we need and are the best examples of great projects on Solana.

Sol price - 41.34 up mega, we are up 73% over the last month. Leading into breakpoint with news and releases dropping, combined with token drops and this thing is rocketing.

    SolEth - .023, up mega

Solbtc - .0012 up! We passed previous resistance at .001 i was watching closely and boy we are not stopping.

Well the theme of this episode has to address the overall upness of the market and just how pumped I am about it.

Huge pumps everywhere, with Sol outperforming everything on the way up, holding higher levels, and the cherry on the top is Bonk pumping over 2x as well.

It’s not ending. Yes there might be local tops and some pullbacks, but I think we are starting to the beginning of the bull run.

The timing couldn’t be better, it’s token season on Solana combined with Breakpoint coming up and tons of really good protocols humming along.

The protocols that I’m most excited about all have tokens coming as well.

Jupiter, drift, jito, kamino, meteora, margin, magic Eden, goose, isc have all had pretty serious rumors about dropping tokens and I’m here for it. I think Sol holders and all of us that have been here for years should be rewarded. We are the community and bring  value to these protocols. Spreading that would be the most crypto thing. This is how Ethereum has always won, they get their users rich and they never leave. I am here for it.

Of course with all these great game changing protocols having really thought out drops, there are the memecoins with no thought as well. I’m seeing jeet, wen, and a whole slosh of other coins flood the market and why not. It’s fun, some of them do okay.

But I think the trash tokens are actually highlighting the insane difference between a token and all that Bonk has done. Bonk is built different and with a great drop to the community and integrations with almost all protocols it is the heart of solana. It was there for us on our darkest days after ftx rugged. It dropped on Christmas and Solana was like $8 and sentiment was trash. It was going to 0. I was sitting at my in laws and laughing at bonk and branche dropped that bonk was launching in degen mints and I aped some because I thought it was funny. I bought more because it was fun. Burning your bonk was hilarious. This was the start but they have continued to build this whole year. Great marketing, fun, and tons of use cases are all on the back of this rally and it feels good.

If you’re in nfts, pivot to defi.

NFTs are doomed. Everything is down mega. I’m not sure when it stops. But I can say what has worked in the past is holding quality nfts that will do well. Maybe adding a couple more that are super bleeding. The only project excelling during these dark times are the Quekz! That’s right, our ducks are the best ducks. I got some sick merch, the holders are absolute chads and it’s going to 10 sol and wouldn’t be surprised to find it at 100 sol. No one sells. It’s funnier if you don’t.

As far as other quality NFTs, I’d urge caution, but famous foxes look free, they have a ton of revenue and run time and aren’t going anywhere, smb gen 3 are free, Monkedao isn’t going anywhere either.

Empire pod and 1000x is maybe the best pod to think about the crypto markets. One of the hosts Jonah trash talked Solana and got roasted. Then they had Toly on and hes pretty onboard with Solana.

How to play the pump: keep an eye on SolBtc. I have the urge to take a little profits on the way up. But the left curve is to just stake and hold. i have most of my sol staked and will hold. But i will keep an eye on the price of solana vs Bitcoin. When it tops I will likely look at swapping over. Because when Bitcoin runs it runs.

    Updated from breakpoint:

Armani and Tristan and the lads are releasing an exchange! A centralized exchange for the people. Super pumped, and they also released a mobile app.

    Next breakpoint is in Singapore.

Fire dancer is officially on testnet and hitting 1 million tps! Eth teases solana speeds, while solana tests unheard of speeds.

    Pyth airdrop is live.

Squads is releasing a wallet called fuse wallet that’s a multisig and super user friendly.

    AWS releases node runner.

anyways sorry for the late episode, everything was pumping and I couldn’t even keep up with the news. It’s Halloween, get those pumpkins carved and enjoy some gains.

  • Solana Weekly #46 - Fake It To Make It

What’s up everybody, this is Thomas Bahamas and you are here for another episode of Solana Weekly. Where it’s my job to find the biggest stories of the week and try to figure out the implications of what we’re seeing.

As Barry Silbert used to say, it’s gonna be a big week. A big week because the SEC is not going to fight GBTC’s application to convert its trust to an ETF.

Sol price: 23.72 up over 10% in the last week and outpacing Bitcoin.

SolEth : .0151, up 8 percent on the week. Eth looking terrible, narratives are lacking.

SolBtc up 4%. We like it. And I will dig into why.

ETF Fake out on BTC and we all pump while the shorts get wiped.

    MetaMask down.

Saga displaying pmf with a decentralized App Store built into the phone where Apple or google can’t sensor apps.

Degen Dad's in the building, loving what they are doing.

Seems like nft mints and presales are back? I’m unsure if they are profitable, but my guess is the front running of breakpoint and I’m excited for it.

Cypher protocol coming in hot with an IDO next week. Excited to see how it goes. It was hacked, but could also be the start of defi 2.0.

    Sollinked.com - so freaking sick.

    https://app.sollinked.com/solanaweekly

Drop me a line on there and I’ll give you a shout out.

Aperture Ai explanations on a block explorer.

Flipside crypto- just started digging into this, but looks like a sick platform to analyze big data sets. I use looker a lot and will be using this more.

Wash trading - stocks 1 month, crypto 0.

Moral imperative to get the fcking money. I see staked sol, ducks and monkeys as the way to get the money.

As always, thanks for joining in!

  • Solana Weekly #45 - War, Taxes, and Parties

What’s up everybody! This is Thomas Bahamas and you are here for another episode of Solana Weekly. I’m here to uncover the alpha, break down what's going on, and try to figure out where Solana is taking us. We got wars, we got taxes, and we got Breakpoint coming up.

    To the market:

Sol Price 22.19 - fairly flat, down about a dollar.

Sol Eth - .014, still fairly flat. Lot of talk out there about eth not having the narrative these days.

Sol BTC - fairly flat as well, but it looking bad.

We got breakpoint coming up end of the month and I’m expecting a sol pump and some sick new announcements.

War - expectation of coins going down and all risk assets are rocky. NFT's and niche alt coins aren't the safe haven needed, but are still doing pretty well. But this could be the inevitable push to get the fed to start printing and we see  the start of the great bull run of all assets before implosion, and it's a mess.

Arthur Hayes on the Impact Theory podcast, insanely good breakdown of macro. Not into the impact theory, but when Arthur's talking, I'm listening. I heard some very similar ideas on Hidden Forces as well, and it goes into just how the bull run for crypto and most assets begins when the money printer gets turned back on.

Information inflow management - I have to constantly check myself and realize who I’m taking info from. The whole NFA not financial advice thing is hilarious. Think about who you are listening to and who helps you think more clearly about markets. Don’t give your fav nft influencer credit for being a macro genius and a war expert, there are a lot of people who have dedicated their lives to that. I also think it would be hilarious to pick your brain and think about why you bought something and if it was an influencer that you wouldn’t take advice about anything on.

Socialfi is stupid and it's a circle jerk for crypto people.

Two main additions to sol with Friendzy.gg launching chat and hub3 launching.

I think Friendzy has more potential for Solana because of the bonding curve not being as aggressive. On hub 3 the pricing increases significantly, like a friend tech. Solana people are cheap. Me included.

Avax’s friend tech competitor stars arena was hacked twice in a day and drained for 3 mill. We get reminded of the douchey founder emin gun by him saying it’s not big. We should also remember he hired a law firm to sue Solana labs.

Taxes: I did it, I paid Crypto Tax Made Easy to fix my taxes for the 2022 year. He brought 36k in gains down to 6k. I have the netrunner nft and used their platform but I didn’t like it. So I used the website crypto tax calculator and imported my wallets and exchange transactions. It was a mess with 12k transactions and they were all labeled wrong and it scared the f out of me. I knew it was wrong with giving me huge gains on stable coin swaps and no cost basis, but I also didn’t know how to fix it. The platforms aren’t there. It was like $600 to import all those transactions and two g’s for him to do all the work, but the peace of mind knowing that I don’t have a 36k tax liability hanging over me and the potential for the irs to come after are more than worth it. I love crypto and want to keep this as a positive impact on my life so I think it was necessary. I also f’d up and sold a bunch of eth and btc on Blockfi and there is no way that those transactions aren’t going to the irs. My new rule is to never do sales on exchanges. Exchanges are for stablecoins and on and off ramping only. It’s free to on-ramp, the execution and swap costs are better on chain anyways, and the reported gains aren’t accurate yet. So there is NO benefit for me.

We need large audiences and bringing in new people.

So far all it does is make a better circle jerk for us crypto peeps.

This does nothing for our space but let us gamble more. Not improving anything.

The whole purpose of using social media is to bring in outsiders to crypto. Think 2017 bull run and how insane twitter was. I even had people shilling lite coin on my Facebook feed. Pomp would get on the news and everyone would go crazy. The positive memes resignated and brought people and institutions in.

We don’t have that anymore. Twitter is filled with crypto scam accounts that Normies hate, engagement and our feeds are trash, I have to go to private chats to see the quek tweets.

None of these protocols are optimizing for the right thing which is getting outsiders in. No one is paying 5k just to hear market analysis from someone that larps as a car on Twitter, no one is bridging to Avax to buy your keys because none of that fixes a problem for Normies.

We need to clean up the crypto scams collectively and get out of our own little bubbles. Find a way to build on x to make things better. Use the tools they provide like community notes and reporting accounts tagging people.

Other fun stuff: breakpoint is coming!

I got some Quek merch, it’s sick.

MadLads coming with some sort of announcements. Huge update on backpack where you can easily lock your nft in your wallet.

SMB gen 3 continues to go down. I am tax loss harvesting the ones I bought after mint and buying borderline grails for under 10 sol. Outlook isn’t great but I need more losses to offset gains and I don’t bet against the monkes.

I think defi is continuing and not going anywhere. Had a dream that drift dropped a coin and became the biggest defi protocol ever. Honestly it could happen, it’s that good. Yes it’s got perps, but it’s got Lend, borrow, earn, swaps, and everything

    Is so clean.

I appreciate you all tuning in and would like you all to think twice before spreading any fud, fudding is easy, finding positivity and spreading it is hard. Hard but positive.

I’m here to uncover the alpha, break down what's going on, and try to figure out where Solana is taking us. Solana is gaining traction with it’s partnerships with Shopify, Visa, and a recent SVM rollup launched on Eth and the timeline has been insane.

Sol Price: $20.16 and holding steady. Strong week for Sol. Up 9.51% on the week and looking juicy af.

SolEth- .01240 This is what I’m talking about with an increase of 8.3% and a heap of fud coming out of the .eth’s because of it. We love to see it.

SolBtc - Up baby, up 9%.

    To the market:

Overall sentiment seems to be altcoins bad, btc to run this show?

Still think solana holds vs btc but the timeline thinks otherwise.

Bankless bros are starting to fire back after getting ratio’d over and over.

Think this is only the start.

  • Solana Weekly #42 - The Answer To Everything

What’s up everybody! This is Thomas Bahamas and you are here for another episode of Solana Weekly. This is episode number 42 and that is significant because if you have read “A Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” you would know that this is actually the answer to everything. I’m here to uncover the alpha, break down what's going on, and try to figure out where Solana is taking us. Some of the highlights of the week were a pretty major crash across the market, Visa releasing their research into why they chose Solana for settlement, and NFT’s are starting to show some light at the end of the tunnel.

    To the market:

Sol Price: $18.41 and looking like it wants a little higher. We caught a major drop from 19.30 to 18 and it didn’t look pretty. We saw frontrunning and massive short interest from all sides after seeing FTX amounts of SOL that could be unlocked. I think most of that was overplayed and the dumping will take place over months and it won’t be a massive drop. But still the market doesn’t look great and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it hit $14 or $25 next week. Short term we will keep seeing volatility both ways, long term we go up.

Breaking news, I just heard from my intern, assistant, and maid that we have wicked down to 18 and we need to look into buying the dip.

SolEth- .01145 with a decrease of 5% on the week. Not bad considering Sol dumped before ETH did. My money is on Sol outperforming ETH throughout the year. I bridged some ETH over to SOL and placed bids with it on SOL if we do dip more. I figure it’s time to up the size a bit.

SolBtc - down 11% on the week. This is bad, Bitcoin performing as it should with being more of a store of value.

Visa settlement on Solana and they released their analysis. This is huge because it’s an independent analysis and validates all the attributes of the network that we’ve been talking about. They went through a ton of research on different blockchains and Solana was a clear favorite. Some of the best were the 400 ms settlement time, interesting Polygon was 20 minutes, the low cost of transactions and the fact that the transaction cost doesn’t fluctuate over time, and that it’s the best suited chain for payments. We like this, and Solana didn’t pay for this, they chose Solana.

MetaMask has support for Solana! The best wallet in crypto released a new feature called snaps. With this, it allows it to use other blockchains and integrate with other wallets. For Solana you can basically link a MetaMask with a Solflare wallet. Then you can bridge back and forth very easily. Also native btc and other chains. But this is a pretty sick development. Manage your money from MetaMask while you adventure into the wild world of Solana. Big for eth to sol adoption. How much adoption can we expect? We’ll see, it’s my belief that eth community already joined in and most got burnt and went back to eth. Kind of similar to bitcoiners moving to eth and losing money to scams and ico’s in 2017, then calling all coins other than btc an alt coin scam.

But this might give them another reason to revisit and make that journey easier. Removing the friction will always be good.

Solana tanks. FTX threat of selling is looming and the timeline is miserable.

NFT’s and joy. Small increases in nft prices around and I’m liking it. But what I want to talk about is the NFT’s that I buy that make me smile. My favorite is the SolSunsets project and I just added another. They are so well done, perfect twitter banners, and just brings me joy. These are the projects that I recommend you buy. Who cares about the chart, who cares about the roadmap and utility, the core of what you’re buying is the nft.

A tale of two extremes of the nft dao spectrum.

Quekz - quektator, impulsive, owner, rules with iron fist, makes changes on a whim, doesn’t care about governance or actually really want to interact with most holders haha. This is super appealing because I actually don’t really care about the day to day either, I just want to laugh and have fun.

Smb - oh boy. DAO, votes, vote proposals, weekly meetings, constant bickering, it’s very tiresome.

Magic Eden hinting at a token drop and people are trying to farm gems or something. Cant tell if this is a last cry of hope for them or if it will be successful. Tensor has eaten their lunch and have been public about their rewards, token drop, and their platform is a revolution.

Speaking of airdrops, I got one for Alldomains, the other name service provider on Solana that hosts the .monke or .bonk addresses. Bought some more on the side because I saw it pop up on Bonkbot in Telegram, but the liquidity isn’t there, I even am providing some liq, but it’s not helping haha.

  • Solana Weekly #41 - Bears Be Gone

What’s up everybody! This is Thomas Bahamas and you are here for another episode of Solana Weekly. Here to drop some alpha on what's going on and where we're going in this crazy space. It’s been a hell of week again with the bears showing their faces in full force and adoption for Solana showing it’s face with Visa starting to settle with USDC on Solana.

    To the market:

Sol Price: $19.69 and climbing like crazy.

SolEth- .01192 with just a tiny decrease on the week

    SolBtc - flat.

    To the news:

Booz app- adding a backend to a solana based decentralized marketplace for whiskey. Pretty huge, the owner is in our Solana Wine Snobs named whiskey titan.

Visa! Visa is using usdc on Solana for settlement.

Base goes down and Solana remains unaffected.

Ftx gonna sell 1.5 billion of Solana.

With that the bears are here. In full force. Everywhere, can’t avoid them.

Still bullish af on the monkes and Nom running it, but it’s rough.

    Back to the bears:

If you think it’s going to zero then just leave and buy gold or something. If you believe in crypto and Solana’s place in it, this is where you buy and have a stack on the side if we dip more. When it becomes the norm to be bearish is when you should be the most bullish.

    Flatcoin talk
