This was one fun interview as Bill shared stories of his world travels representing America at the highest level... (pun intended). Can you imagine diving off the cliffs in Acapulco? How about standing on a 2' x 2' platform, 80 feet in the air and diving off while on fire? These are just a few of the adventures that Bill shares with our listening audience. He is truly a "one of a kind" of guy to risk life and limb... and consider it....fun:) Bill is also the epitome of Renewable Energy because he never runs out of steam... and he is always looking for new adventures. Ken and Paula are awesome Solar-Fit customers and reside in Plantation Reserve, one of our favorite communities in Ormond Beach, Florida. This was truly a fun conversation with two amazing people who share their passion for utilizing the sun's free energy with a healthy dose of humor...which is the key to happiness.  On their journey to energy independence, they initially met with Gloria several years ago and invested in a Solar-Fit solar pool system. After seeing first hand the effectiveness of this technology, they invited Gloria back to discuss investing in a solar power system and a solar water heating system to take control of their ever increasing utility costs. As they say, "the rest is history". They are now enjoying a $25/month electric bill, swimming in solar heated comfort, and have a plentiful supply of hot water... thanks to the sun. Bill and Gloria's interview with Doug Farrar, International Director of Sales at the Juice Plus + Company. This was a fun and educational conversation with Doug as he shared information on the Juice Plus+ product and the health benefits of the nutritionals. Doug's puppy Hurley was listening in... but elected not to step up to the mike on this occasion. They also talked about tower garden, a product which Gloria just installed at her home. Hear Bill's conversation with his long-time friend, and fellow Florida Solar Energy Industries Association, (FlaSEIA), board member Dave Bessette. Dave has been an industry leader for more than three decades and he was recently inducted into the FlaSEIA Solar Hall of Fame...an awesome, well deserved achievement for a lifetime of service in the solar industry.

One of the prime topics Bill and Dave shared is the formation of the Florida Solar Energy Apprenticeship Program. This program is the first and only solar apprenticeship in the country to be registered with the U.S. Department of Labor, and approved by the Florida Department of Education. The explosive growth of the solar industry in Florida requires the rapid development of skilled workers to handle the demand for solar power, which is increasing each day. The Florida Solar Apprentice Program works in concert with participating solar contractors to train individuals to become skilled in every facet of solar energy system deployment, including solar power systems, solar thermal systems, and solar storage applications. This program will greatly benefit homeowners and solar contractors alike by training individuals to become skilled technicians to professionally and safely install and service solar systems in our rapidly growing industry. Thank you Dave, for your years of service to our industry, and for your work in helping develop the solar apprenticeship program. Special thanks as well to our friend, Colleen Kettles, Director of Business Development at the Florida Solar Energy Center for her dedication to the solar industry and her guidance in developing the Florida Solar Apprenticeship Program.

It was great to catch up with Greg and have a chance to talk about the explosive growth that we are experiencing, and how it is being managed. It brought back memories of how not too many years ago...Palm Coast used to be the "best kept secret in the world" when it comes to living the Florida lifestyle. Well...someone let the secret out of the bag! The flood gates are open and folks are moving here from across America to enjoy our beautiful weather, our pristine beaches, and the family friendly atmosphere. Managing that growth takes a dedicated team like Greg's, working in concert with businesses and local government officials to effectively guide the expansion, and to maintain the culture that makes our community so special. Solar-Fit is proud to be a member of the Palm Coast-Flagler Regional Chamber and we appreciate the hard work being done behind the scenes to keep our community growth on track. One of many exciting projects now underway is the new Southern Palm Coast Recreation Center. The Rec Center will feature a brand new Pickleball complex that will excite so many advocates of the fastest growing sport in our country. One of the awesome special features is that the Rec Center they built will be Solar-Fitted... meaning powered by the sun. How cool is that! Last, but certainly not least...we can not mention Flager County without giving a special thanks to Sheriff Rick Staley and his team for providing a safe haven for our families to reside.
