  • A Forty-Year Fire: When you can’t grieve out loud.

Have you ever loved someone —

    So quietly, so completely —

That nobody around you even knew?

    This is that story!

Because that’s not a slow burn.

    That’s a forty-year fire —

With nobody in the room who knows it’s lit.

My trilogy has a spice rating of half a chilli pepper.

The love that burned for forty years?

    Eight chillies minimum.

    And that gap —

Between the spice and the fire —

    Is the whole story.

This is Etched on My Skin.

Book One of The D Trilogy.

A Hollywood love story about what it costs —

When the fire was never slow —

And you spend forty years pretending it was.

I’m Roya Nava. Everyone deserves to be truly seen. Come join the full conversation.

  • Welcome to The Inner Circle

    Have you ever stayed somewhere...

    Not because you planned to...

    But because something kept landing.

    A sentence.

    A question.

A feeling you couldn’t quite name.

That’s how the best things find us.

    Not with a grand entrance.

    With one quiet moment of...

    “Oh. That’s me.”

    That’s what this space is.

    Not an audience.

    Not a following.

    A circle.

A place where no one has to perform.

Where the cracks don’t get edited out.

Where the questions matter more than the answers.

So here’s the only thing I ask of you.

    Stay.

    Stay when something feels uncomfortable.

Stay when a question follows you long after the episode ends.

Stay when you recognize yourself in places you weren’t expecting.

Because those quiet moments of recognition...

That’s what being truly witnessed feels like.

    Welcome to the Inner Circle.

  • A Choice

    What choice would you make?

This podcast started as an idea for a book club.

    But it’s became something else.

It’s a conversation about what it means to be human.

About grief that has no language.

About loving someone so much it costs you everything.

    About performing wholeness —

    While quietly falling apart.

The books are where we go to have that conversation.

But you don’t have to read them to get something from this.

And you don’t have to listen before you read.

    This is your choice.

Read first — the full series will be here when you’re done.

Listen first — I’ll leave enough in the book to still surprise you.

    Or just — stay.

    For the conversation.

    Because sometimes that’s enough.

I’m Roya Nava. Everyone deserves to be truly seen. Come join the full conversation.

  • This Is For You

    IS THIS YOU?

    I want to describe someone.

They are fine. Genuinely, measurably fine.

They have built a life that works.

And they are carrying something they haven’t never fully named.

Maybe it’s a love that had no official ceremony.

Maybe it’s a version of themselves they talked themselves out of.

    Maybe it’s a choice they made — a reasonable one —

that sits strangely in the body at 2 in the morning.

    They don’t talk about it.

They carry it so well that some days they forget it’s there.

    Until something — a song, a scene, a line in a book —

    describes the inside of it.

And for a second they are not carrying it alone.

That is what this series is.

    If that’s you —

    you’re in the right place.

  • How We Feel: Where do feelings go when the memory disappears?

Do you think the feeling disappears —

    When the memory goes?

Because I don’t think it does.

    I think it moves.

    Out of the memory —

    Into the body.

    Into the hands.

Into everything you keep making —

    Or choosing —

    Or running from —

    Without quite knowing why.

I found my journals from when I was fifteen.

I didn’t recognize the girl who wrote them.

Her pain was completely gone from my memory.

But it was in every single book I ever wrote.

    Every character who hides.

Every woman who needs to be seen.

    The memory let her go.

    The body never did.

Is there something in your life that works the same way?

    Something your mind released —

That your hands keep reaching for anyway?

  • Finally, I was found.

Have you ever found something you made —

And had no memory of making it?

I found a letter twelve days before I turned fifty.

I wrote it when I was fifteen.

A month after arriving in Canada.

In Farsi — because I didn’t have English words yet

    for what I was feeling.

She wrote of sadness, loneliness, profound feelings of invisibility.

    I don’t remember being her.

    But she kept everything.

Every painting. Every poem. Every midnight letter.

While her mind was forgetting the darkness —

her hands were keeping the record.

At sixteen in English she wrote:

“The night is black BUT it holds all the colourful things inside.”

She wrote BUT because she was hoping.

I answer her AND it holds all the colourful things inside.

    Because I’m fifty now.

And I know what she was making in the dark.

Is there something in a box somewhere —

    something your hands kept —

that your memory has let go of?

    I’m Roya Nava.

And Everyone deserves to be truly seen.

  • The Story that wouldn't go back in the box.

Have you ever tried to walk away from something —

And found it had already followed you?

At nineteen—I watched Pride and Prejudice.

And I felt something so profound—

I sewed an Elizabeth Bennet dress from a bedsheet.

    By hand. No pattern.

Because the feeling had nowhere else to go.

I have been making things my whole life because of feelings like that.

    Poems. Stories. Paintings. Music.

    All of it—private.

    All of it—in boxes.

I never felt the need to share any of it.

    Until this story.

Because this one wouldn’t go back in the box.

    I tried.

It was born from losing people I loved—

And people I had never met but grieved anyway.

And it turned into a trilogy about a woman—

Who spends forty years loving someone—

She was never officially allowed to lose.

    Have you ever had that?

The thing that wouldn’t go back in the box?

    The making—the saying—the sharing—

That arrived before you were ready?

  • Welcome to Sole Witness

Sole Witness Intro, what is it, who am I and why now:)I came here to tell you about my books.

    Somehow this happened instead.

And honestly? It feels more like what I was supposed to do all along.

I’m Roya Nava. Author. Mom. Wife. Daughter. Sister. And most of all — a human trying to figure out this life one reflection at a time.

    This is Sole Witness.

For the woman who has spent her whole life being everything every room required of her — and has forgotten what it feels like to be truly seen.

It started with a trilogy. But it was never really about the books.

It was always about the questions underneath them.

You will hear my voice crack. You will see me fumble. I’m not cutting all of that out — because that’s what being witnessed actually looks like.

Not perfect. Not polished. Just real.

If you are a master of acting fine — and have forgotten what it feels like to be truly seen — welcome.

I’m glad the box couldn’t hold it.
