August 27, 2017#96 Part I From Triumph To Tragedy And Back To Triumph - This Time For Eternity 8/26/17From triumph to tragedy...and back to triumph. Few boys have had a “larger than life” father like Brad Tyrer had. His father, NFL pioneer Jim Tyrer, was physically larger than life - 6’6" and 300 pounds. And, he was as quick on his feet as he was big. His football resume was impressive. Jim played in the first Super Bowl and won in Super Bowl IV. He was an All-Pro Lineman for 9 years. This week, as Brad sits down with Kurt and Chad, he tells how his idyllic childhood took a tragic turn on September 15, 1980, and how his life would never be the same. Brad went on to make a name for himself as a linebacker for Tom Osborne at Nebraska. Bowl games and gridiron glory behind him, Brad developed meaningful friendships with men on and off the football field, and his life would again, never be the same. This time for the better...and for eternity....more24minPlay

August 06, 2017#93 Part I Howard Hendricks Taught Thousands How To Study God's Word 8/5/17Who is the most influential Christian of the 20th century that you've never heard of? That question may get many different answers, but a case can be made for a kid from the streets of Philadelphia who taught at Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) for over 60 years. On this weeks show, Chad and Kurt talk with Indiana pastor and DTS graduate Ray Green as he recalls his relationship with the “Prof,” Howard Hendricks. Howard could have been a professor at an Ivy League school, but he felt a call to teach at DTS. There he influenced the men of influence - Chip Ingram, Chuck Swindoll, Tony Evans, Bruce Wilkinson, David Jeremiah, and even the Dallas Cowboys! Howard's unique approach to the Word of God isn't just for seminary students - it’s for everyone who opens the Bible....more23minPlay
