FAG23 - Das Kürzel steht nicht nur für die FREUDE AM GERÄUSCH, sondern auch für den puren Spaß an den schrillsten Klängen und den abgefahrensten Sound-Verzerrungen. Wir sind hier nicht einfach nur Zuhörer, sondern Klangabenteurer, die sich in den wirbelnden Dimensionen der Musik verlieren und dabei brachialste Klänge feiern.


My History

Meine musikalische Reise begann im Jahr 1996, als ich anfing Vinyl-Schallplatten zu mixen und Musik zu produzieren. Von elektronischen Klängen wurde ich schon 1992 infiziert und damals wurden die Grundsteine für mein Tekno-Leben gelegt, das nun schon 32 Jahre elektrisch erklingt. In Kölns damals einzigem Techno-Club „Warehouse“ erlebte ich wilde Nächte und entdeckte meine Liebe zur elektronischen Musik und zum tanzen. In einer Ära, in der Computer noch zu langsam waren, um Musik in Echtzeit zu machen, vertrauten wir auf die analogen Helden unserer Sets: Roland SH-101, TB-303, TR-606, und die 808 und 909 und auf Technics-Plattenspieler.

Auf meinem Weg lag dann Ende der 90er Jahr noch mein Plattenladen NET-RECORDS oder eine Tekno-Kneipe oder selbstorganisierte FreeParties, oder…
Seitdem sind stolze 28 Jahre vergangen – 28 Jahre Vinyl-Mixing, 28 Jahre Tekno. Eine Zeit voller ekstatischer Nächte, durchtanzter Sonnenaufgänge und der ewigen Suche nach dem nächsten bahnbrechenden Beat.

Doch FAG23 ist mehr als nur eine musikalische Odyssee. Es ist eine Hommage an die FreeParty- und Teknival-Kultur, die mich seit über 25 Jahren in unseren Bann zieht. Angefangen bei Spiral Tribe, den Reverends of Rhythm in Heilbronn, APA Soundsystem und viele andere. Die epischen Nächte auf Freeparties oder auf dem Easttek und Teknivals in ganz Europa: Das alles hat mein Leben für immer geprägt – und ich hätte auch kein anderes Leben leben wollen.

Für mich ist DJ-Mixing nicht nur das plumpe abspielen von Tracks, hintereinander weg oder dem stupiden Aneinanderreihen von Platten. Es ist die Kunst, zwei Tracks zu verschmelzen und daraus einen einzigartigen Sound zu erschaffen der nur in diesem Moment lebt und der nur live entstehen kann. Das ist FAG23-DJ-Mixing in seiner Essenz.
Und vergessen wir nicht: Tekno: Das heißt in meinem Leben. Musik als Träger von Ideen! Ein ständiger Fluss von Kreativität, der uns immer weiter treibt. Mehr als 25 Jahre ist elektronische Musik nicht nur Teil meines Lebens, sondern meine Leidenschaft.

Wir versuchen, unsere Hemmungen abzulegen und uns von den Fesseln und Einschränkungen zu befreien, die Ihr uns zu Eurem eigenen Seelenfrieden auferlegt habt. Wir versuchen, uns von der Last der Unsicherheit für eine Zukunft zu befreien, bei der Ihr mit Euren Kriegen, Eurem Hass und Eurer Gier nicht in der Lage gewesen seid, sie für uns zu stabilisieren und zu sichern.
Was ich sagen will, ist, dass wir versuchen, das Programm neu zu schreiben, welches Ihr uns seit dem Moment, in dem wir geboren wurden, einzupflanzen versucht habt. Eine Matrix, die gegen uns vorgeht und uns zu hassen scheint, die alles verurteilt, was anders ist und nicht mag, wenn wir sichtbar werden.
Gemeint ist das Programm, welches Ihr uns ab dem 1. Tag unseres Lebens einzupflanzen versucht und welches uns sagt, dass wir für Euch schuften sollen und uns beibringen soll, durch brennende Reifen zu springen, durch Labyrinthe zu irren und in Hamsterrädern zu laufen.
Eure unmenschliche Kultur, die uns sagt, dass es besser ist, von einem glänzenden, goldenen Löffel zu fressen, anstatt zu schauen, dass alle satt werden.


Wir sind nicht gegen das System. Das System ist gegen uns.

Wir sind keine Kriminellen. Wir sind keine Drogenabhängigen. Wir sind auch nicht desillusioniert. Wir sind nicht dumm und keine naiven Kinder.
Wir sind ein stammesartiges, globales, massives Dorf, das nicht von den Gesetzen der Menschen, Raum und Zeit abhängt. Wir sind ein Tribe, da uns unsere Musik und unsere Art zu leben zu einer Einheit verbindet. Die Einheit.
Freeparties und Teknivals stellen sich der kapitalistischen Vorgabe entgegen, dass es hier auf dieser Welt nichts mehr kostenlos geben soll. Dass alles zum Produkt gemacht wird, welches einen Preis hat. Wir wehren uns dagegen, dass man auf dieser Welt alles kaufen muss.
Wir feiern und tanzen solange, bis die Sonne aufgeht und uns die Realität der Welt, die Ihr für uns geschaffen habt, einholt. Und so tanzen wir glücklich mit unseren Brüdern und Schwestern und feiern Tekno, uns miteinander, und unser Leben.


Bitte lasst uns anders sein dürfen!

Ihr mögt uns hassen. Ihr mögt uns ignorieren. Ihr mögt uns missverstehen. Es kann sein, dass Ihr unsere Existenz nicht wahrnehmen wollt. Wir hatten immer gehofft, dass Ihr uns einfach in Ruhe lassen würdet, dass Ihr uns nicht verurteilt, denn wir verurteilen Eure Art zu leben auch nicht.


In der Mitte des Lärms, finden wir die Ruhe, die wir suchen.

Wir werden weiterhin auf Wiesen und in Wäldern, in Lagerhallen und Trümmern zusammenkommen, also an Orten, die Ihr aufgegeben und ohne Grund zurückgelassen habt - und hauchen diesen Plätzen für eine Nacht oder ein einzelnes Wochenende Leben ein.
Ein starkes, explosives, pulsierendes Leben, in seiner hedonistischsten, reinsten und intensivsten Form. Wir werden weiterhin Tekno feiern, denn das ist der Sound, der uns glücklich macht und uns verbindet. Und unsere Liebe für das Leben, für einander und für die Welt zum Ausdruck bringt.

FAG23: A Quarter Century of Vinyl Mixing and Tekno.

FAG23 - The acronym not only stands for the JOY OF SOUND but also for the sheer delight in the most vibrant tones and mind-bending sound distortions. We are not just listeners; we are sound adventurers, losing ourselves in the swirling dimensions of music while celebrating the most brutal sounds.

History
My journey began in 1996 when I started mixing vinyl records and producing music. The infection with electronic sounds occurred as early as 1992, laying the foundation for my Tekno life, which has been echoing electrically for 32 years now. In Cologne's then-only techno club "Warehouse," I experienced wild nights and discovered my love for electronic music and dancing. In an era when computers were still too slow to make music in real-time, we relied on the analog heroes of our sets: Roland SH-101, TB-303, TR-606, and the 808 and 909, along with Technics turntables. Along the way, there was also my record store NET-RECORDS in the late '90s or a Tekno pub, and so on.

Since then, proud 28 years have passed – 28 years of vinyl mixing, 28 years of Tekno. A time filled with ecstatic nights, danced sunrises, and the eternal search for the next groundbreaking beat.

But FAG23 is more than just a musical odyssey. It is a tribute to the FreeParty and Teknival culture that has captivated me for over 25 years. Starting with Spiral Tribe, the Reverends of Rhythm in Heilbronn, APA Soundsystem, and many others. The epic nights at FreeParties or at Easttek and Teknivals throughout Europe: All of this has forever shaped my life – and I wouldn't have wanted any other life.

For me, DJ mixing is not just the blunt play of tracks, one after another or the mundane stringing together of records. It is the art of merging two tracks and creating a unique sound that lives only in that moment and can only come alive live. That is FAG23-DJ-Mixing in its essence.

And let's not forget: Tekno means everything in my life. Music as a carrier of ideas! A constant flow of creativity that continually propels us forward. For more than 25 years, electronic music has not only been part of my life but my passion.

So, let's dance together through the quirky sounds of FAG23, losing ourselves in the beats with a smile.

We are trying to shed our inhibitions and free ourselves from the shackles and restrictions you have imposed on us for your own peace of mind. We are trying to rid ourselves of the burden of uncertainty for a future where your wars, your hatred, and your greed have failed to stabilize and secure it for us.

What I mean is that we are trying to rewrite the program that you have been trying to implant in us since the moment we were born. A matrix that works against us and seems to hate us, condemning everything that is different and disapproving when we become visible.

I'm referring to the program that you have been trying to implant in us from the first day of our lives, telling us that we should toil for you and teaching us to jump through burning hoops, wander through mazes, and run in hamster wheels.

Your inhumane culture tells us that it's better to eat from a shiny, golden spoon than to ensure that everyone is fed.
