I've pretty much fallen in love with Montana. This was my third visit to the state in my RV and my first time visiting Glacier National Park. My guest is Summer Michaud-Skog author and founder of Fat Girls Hiking. Summer talks about how she fell in love with hiking and how she inadvertently started a community just by sharing about the thing she loves to do. Summer is a wonderful photographer and writer and I’ve followed her Instagram account for some time now. She's written a beautiful book  also called Fat Girls Hiking-which I have been thoroughly enjoying. Summer shares about some of the barriers that plus-size people face in accessing the outdoors and some things that we can do to make it a more welcoming experience.

This week on the podcast I share about my personal experience as a solo female volunteer campground host at Wallowa Lake State Park in Eastern Oregon for the month of May 2022. I traveled there with my cat Tucker and worked alongside another host volunteer couple and the wonderful Park Rangers at Wallowa Lake State Park.

I talk about hosting during an unusually cold May with lots of snow, the best and most challenging parts of being a camp host and how Tucker is adjusting to life on the road. Listen in!

My guest this week on the Solo Women RV Podcast is Brenda Puckett of Queen Bee RV. Brenda is a certified RV inspector and an RV technician who specializes in helping women feel confident in buying a new or used RV. She went through a very extensive training at the National RV Training Academy where she is now also a teacher. She came on to talk how she became an RV Inspector, why it’s a great career for women RVers and also, things to look out for when buying a new or used RV.

My guest today is Brenda Williams who was part of a group of women who went to Dawson Springs, KY to help families whose homes and community were destroyed by a devastating tornado that obliterated their town. A group of women who are part of Sister Corps, an affiliation of Sisters on the Fly camping organization, volunteer their time to help communities rebuild after natural disasters. Brenda came on today to share her experience the first time she volunteered with Sister Corps. It’s quite a story.

Our guest today is DJ Dirty Kurty. Kurty is a professional DJ who like a lot of people had her livelihood severely impacted by the Covid 19 pandemic. Like a lot of people, she took a long look at her life and made some changes.
