Cuenta la historia que esta imagen llegó a nuestras tierras de forma milagrosa en el siglo XVIII; se dice que el barco que la traía desde España naufragó, pero el cajón con el Cristo llegó intacto a las costas de Ocumare y de allí fue trasladado a nuestra Villa, donde hoy descansa en su propia Casa de Oración.

Un momento que me llena de orgullo es la procesión de la Virgen María. Es una tradición que tiene muchísimos años y es llevada a cabo con gran respeto; la imagen de nuestra Madre es cargada por sus fieles devotos, quienes con una determinación de hierro llevan sobre sus hombros el peso de la fe, demostrando que la devoción y la fuerza van de la mano.
A moment that fills me with pride is the procession of the Virgin Mary. It is a tradition that is many years old and is carried out with great respect; the image of our Mother is carried by her faithful devotees, who with iron determination carry the weight of faith on their shoulders, showing that devotion and strength go hand in hand

Cada Semana Santa sentimos cómo el pueblo se une en un solo sentimiento de gratitud. Es impresionante ver cómo gente de todas partes de Venezuela y hasta del mundo viene a nuestro pueblo para agradecer los milagros concedidos y pagar los favores recibidos.
