Driving for years through downtown on Street Ministry we would drive by strip clubs. Often times we would see dancers (I call them Daughters) standing or sitting outside. They looked lost, hurt, broken, and sad.
For years it would just dig at me. Here we are on Street Ministry and just driving by people who were hurting. I asked myself if Jesus would do that, or would He stop. My heart would break every time. I prayed that God would show us a way to bring His hope and His love to these daughters.
I was watching a video about a group who hands out roses to prostitutes in Brazil. It was like The Holy Spirit smacked me in the chest. I knew The Lord was answering my prayer.
I share several true raw stories about my own personal struggle with the need of the situation and the need to hold on to my comfort zone. I also struggled with is this the right thing to do?
To be honest I’ve spent a lot of prayer and energy on all of these.
But God showed up in amazing ways. I will share some stories from time to time about this piece of His ministry through us. There will be many stories that I don’t share.
This episode has some of the best.
Over and over throughout the Bible Jesus stood with the outcast. He ate with people who others looked down upon. He was accused of welcoming and eating with notorious sinners. I often ask myself am I doing what He did?
The reason I titled this Podcast the way I did is I believe it. I believe that Jesus loves all people. I believe He was working in the hearts of the daughters, owners, managers, bouncers, and patrons before we ever walked in. I believe He is still working long after we leave.
