Remember those homemade buttermilk biscuits that your grandmother made? They were not out of a can but made from scratch. And so it is with us. We are fearfully and wonderfully made by the hand of God. He made us from scratch..all unique and different. No one is ugly or a misfit. We are all BEAUTIFUL!

There’s magic that happens when a conversation is sparked between two strangers. This random interview, my very first, helped me to understand how much listening and exchanging words can enhance a life if we are willing to do something uncomfortable and outside of the box. This young lady,Yolanda Kelly, inspired me and I know she will inspire you with her wisdom at such a young age.

A people pleaser is sort of like a doormat— people use them to clean their dirty feet!

Pleasing people, taking the path of least resistance, stems from fear. Fear of what people will say or their perception of you if confronted.

We were not made to be doormats- neglecting ourselves to meet other folks needs.. Making decisions based on other folks approval.

“What if”questions swirl around in our mind. Life becomes filled with regret, doubt, and guilt, causing us to become stagnant and paralyzed. “What if”can cause us to not achieve our goals or dreams. We must be set free and move forward. We can’t change anything in our past, and we mustn’t allow our past to deter our future.

One of my favorite cakes to bake is a sour cream pound cake..especially during the holidays. It is so moist and delicious! Well those ingredients that create this mouth watering cake are not good if eaten separately, but Lord when they are all mixed in together and baked in the oven, they come out delicious. Ain’t that just like life.. the good, the bad, and the ugly is mixed up together by God and he CAUSES it all to come out good.

Don’t ever think that you can’t make a difference. You have the power inside you to make another person’s day.. to make another persons life.

Words DO Matter. Sticks and stones may break my bones,but my bones will heal much sooner than negative, mean, degrading, slanderous words. So watch what you say because life and death are in the power of the tongue. Be quick to listen and slow to speak.

This was an impromptu conversation with my Momma. I was using my cheap ring light and it was knocked over… but no worries. Just like in life we persevered through it, and continued our candid conversation.

So much wisdom and history in this episode. Just a woman that made it through and survived!

We sometimes think that doing things in our own is being mature and grown up. And when we hit those rough waters of life, we begin to sink, because we won’t ask for help or accept help. It’s ok to ask for help. We all need help sometimes and we all need each other to survive life.
