Through the event of the Transfiguration, the glory of God is made known in Jesus with an absolute shimmering radiance of Jesus’ face and body. The disciples are not transfigured, but instead, will be transformed later in their ministry. If God can transfigure Jesus, and if God can transfigure the disciples, God can transform us to bring light to the ugly places in the world.
