Something Good with Dr. Ron Jones

Every good gift and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. You may already be in the habit of thanking God for your food. But how often do you ask Him to provide it? James one, verse seventeen, reminds us that God is a generous God, and that every good thing we have comes from Him, including our next meal. “Nevertheless, not My will but thine be done.” Jesus spoke those words in the Garden of Gethsemane … on the night before He was brutally tortured and crucified. And when He prayed that prayer, He was modeling for us what He taught us to pray in Matthew chapter six. Thy will be done. Today, Ron examines the decreed will of God, and the desired will of God, as he moves forward in his series, “The Jesus Way to Pray.”

One of the most beautiful things about the Lord’s Prayer is found in the first two words, "Our Father." Jesus could have said, “My Father.” Instead, He said Our Father, and, in doing so, He invited all mankind to address Almighty God in this way.
