Butler, sit down to discuss Dark Horse Comic’s Darth Maul: Son of Dathormir by Jeremy Barlow. So strap in, and tighten your crash webbing Fandom, Star Wars Beyond the Films is setting off on another rapid-fire trip into the galaxy far, far away!Jumping right in, your hosts give you their SPOILER-FREE run down as per their norm. First from a Canon, then a Legends viewpoint. Just be sure to jump out around 20 minutes in when Tarkin’s Arrogance plays.

This episode runs longer than most due to the intricate nature of this Star Wars comic. The story presented exists in both Canon and Legends timelines. The hosts discuss how this works and other things as they move deeper into the story.

Side note: The Sith ship is in fact, NOT Maul’s from Episode 1, as reported in an interview with Jeremy Barlow by Jedi News:

JN: Was the Sith infiltrator in the 4th issue, Maul’s original one or another model?

JB: In the episode screenplay, that ship is designated as “similar to what Darth Maul flew in Episode I”—so it’s another model.

Some panels that the hosts enjoyed, or pondered this episode (Picture Spoilers below):

The emotions of Kenobi express feeling from Satine’s death?

Gar Saxxon (Above)

Grevious kills a similar looking Mandalorian, but the shoulder plates give him away as not Saxxon.

The glorious art captures the details of General Grevious perfectly.

While some character fates become known, enough remains unknown to suggest that The Clone Wars is far from finished telling its stories.

There were also a lot of variants fro issue #1, as well as the Trade paperback:

And then there was the trade-paperback covers:

Once more your hosts cover entirely too much Darth Lords and Witches action this episode.
