Coming from a diverse and randomly mixed musical background, whether as bass player, producer or DJ – Magic Manfred always combines his multiple influences to complement one another and focuses on their common features instead on the differences.

His bass playing influences his DJing and the other way around. A big mutual factor in all his roles is his undeniable love for the Jazzfunk, Disco & Boogie of the 70s and early 80s.

Growing up in Berlin he made his first steps as a DJ spinning also Boom Bap, Detroit Techno & Chicago House which sometimes becomes noticeable in his sets.

Best known as one-half of soul duo Myron & E, Newark native Eric ‘E’ Cooke aka Eric Boss or E Da Boss is the definition of a multifaceted artist. It began with DJing and a love of hip-hop, which eventually turned into producing, and ultimately brought him to singing and songwriting both alongside Myron and on his own.

He’ll be accompanied by Berlin based DJ Soulski, who runs the “Stranger Funk” party series.

E da Boss & Soulski really got the vibes and celebrated two hours of musical friendship, mixing & selecting Soul, Boogie, Modern Funk, Polish Jazz and other genres in a lovely way.

Find My Balance is the latest offering from Alexander IV - pseudonym of the eclectic Dutch producer, multi-instrumentalist and illustrious tunesmith, Joris Feiertag, who uses the Macedonian monarch’s title to delve into the more soulful side of his sonic output - taking in hip-hop, boogie, jazz and funk influences along the way.

With his latest, effortless outing Alexander IV transports us to the south of France courtesy of plaintive piano and handclaps making way for breezy beats and lonesome brass, complemented perfectly by the soulful vocals of young singer-songwriter Leonard Luka.

Hailing from The Netherlands, with Indonesian roots, Luka is something of a rising star on the electronic end of the R&B scene. His understated, sophisticated delivery belies his tender years, and here provides the perfect foil to Joris’ carefree instrumentation.

Alexander IV’s music fuses organic and electronic elements with ease, which isn’t surprising given the artist’s experience not only as a consummate dance music maker, but also as drummer of choice for Dutch superstars Kraak & Smaak. His music delivers something brand new yet retro; uncomplicated yet masterful.

For our last show of 2023 we had the great pleasure to host Jazzanova’s Juergen von Knoblauch & DJ Amir of 180 Proof Records.

It was a relaxed edition as they played eclectic music from Jazz to Afro to Brazil and House as well as some of our favourite own releases of Sonar Kollektiv such as Shirley Turner’s - I Wish You A World Of Happiness (reissued this year, including a smooth alternative version from The KBCS & Nora Becker), Pete Josef, Feiertag and more.

Indeed, like a summer wind Frinda di Lanco & Hendrik Stein came through the office to bring a warm breeze of uplifting Abbracci Disco.
