This week’s episode features a variety of guests and music. Georja Skinner is the founder of Creative Labs Hawaii (CLH) and talks about new revenue stream opportunities for Hawaii musicians. Charles Brotman, is a Grammy and Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award-winner and director of the CLH Music Immersive. Courtney Booth is the Artistic Director for the Aloha Theatre. She talks about how the theatre is offering virtual performances like "It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play." Nick Wong is a rising star on the Big Island music scene and he discusses his songwriting process. The 17-year-old is still high school but plays live shows like this Saturday at the View Restaurant Bar & Grill in Kona. 

On this week's Friday edition of the Big Island Beat podcast, we have a full show including new music from Tomi Isobe, Olelo, and Bad Papa. We’ll also speak with Artistic Director Guck Gessert from the Kahilu Theatre, Executive Director Phillips Payson for the Hilo Palace Theatre, and comedian and radio personality Nikki Gour. The show wraps up with a report on the new Creative Lab Hawaii virtual program, spearheaded by the State Department of Business to help provide new revenue streams for Hawaii musicians.

Jacy James Anderson is an indie-folk singer-songwriter who grew up on the Big Island, but is now based out of Denver, Colorado. He says his time here, especially under the tutelage of Honoka'a High band teacher Gary Washburn, helped shape his sound. In this interview, Anderson reflected on his rural to an urban musical journey.

Shallon Toré is a gifted vocalist and songwriter who uses her talents to spread her love of Christian music. Shallon Toré Craddock (aka “The Singing Doctor”) is an American urban contemporary gospel singer, contemporary Christian singer, and songwriter. Shallon started singing in a gospel choir at a very young age. During her senior year of high school, she had the opportunity to meet and sing for Reverend James Moore, a gospel music legend. In this episode she shares two original songs, "Glow" and "I Choose."

Chris Stark is an instrumental rock guitarist and songwriter from Hilo.
