Our guest today is a prominent singer/songwriter in Australian Country Music highly respected by his peers.

Multi Golden Guitar winner and Aria nominee He writes relevant, contemporary Australian music containing elements of Blues, Rock, and Country - telling stories of where he's from and where he might be going. He sings his life.
It speaks to and is informed by the Australian landscape and the people of this wide, brown land, Australia.

In 2005 he discovered that he had Aboriginal heritage and belonged to the Kamilaroi tribe of Northern New South Wales. Since then he has been involved in several Indigenous Songwriting / Musical Skills and Mentoring projects with Tamworth Regional Council, APRA, and lately with the Jimmy Little Foundation.
In 2011 was asked to be an indigenous ambassador for Apra.

Was a fantastic and extended Songversation with our guest that we decided to spit it in two episodes and this is part #1. 

Mark Cryle is an Australian singer/songwriter that Courier Mail’s Noel Mengel once described as “one of the best songwriters in Australia”.

Mark has tended to avoid the typical path of the solo singer-songwriter. Instead, he is something of a musical chameleon who enjoys the craft of writing for a variety of ensemble projects. Most recently, these have included the Celtic-flavoured band Asleep at the Reel and a duo with Richard Evans, his old friend from Spot the Dog days, called The Mystery Dogs. Most recently Mark has been working on a project centered on songs about Australian history with nationally and internationally acclaimed guitarist Michael Fix.

Our guest today is Amber Lawrence, an Australian singer-songwriter.  2015  ‘Female Artist of the Year’ 
and winner in 2018 of three Golden Guitars, as APRA Song of the Year, Single of the Year, and Vocal Collaboration of the year, for the song ‘Our Backyard’, a collaboration with Travis Collins.In 2019 Amber Lawrence launched her 6th studio album, Spark – nominated for CMAA Album of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, and Contemporary Album of the Year.
Amber is also a mentor to young artists in the Australian Music Industry and has provided free entertainment and mentoring in over 300 schools Australia-wide, as part of her ‘Be Your Own Superhero’ program.

Our Songversation today is with Andrew Swift, often referred to as one the hardest working country artists in Australia.
He has been on tour with the Wolfe Brothers, Felicity Urquhart, Shannon Noll, numerous festival appearances & Swift’s own shows including his ‘Caravan Park Country Music Showcase’.
2 x Golden Guitar Winner, he has gone from strength to strength since finding his feet in the Australian country music scene as a Toyota Starmaker grand-finalist in 2017.
At the 2019 Golden Guitar Awards, the country music industry recognized his relentless hard work and saw him takehome the awards for Qantas New Talent of the Year & Alternative Country Album of the Year.
