We here at Sonic Legacy strive to honor Iconic music, whether it's a song or a musician or even a band. So here we are with our first Band that we feel are truly Iconic. Whether you like them or not, KISS changed the landscape of music. They are very important to me specifically and one of my best friends, Brent Walter.
So with all of that in mind, here is the first episode in a very long series where Sonic Legacy will go through the entire catalog of the band KISS and the hosts will be asked to pick 2 songs from each album that they can't live without.
The first few episodes will be just Andy and Brent Walter but as we move on through their catalog, other guests will join the panel.
If your a fan of KISS, we think you will enjoy these episodes, if you're not a fan, give it shot, you may find that you like some of the songs we talk about!!
Also, we will rotate different type episodes over the time, it won't be all KISS for the next few months.

We sat down with Brian Slagel, the godfather of independent metal, at RockNPod — the man who turned cassette tapes and passion into a thriving empire for heavy music.
With unmatched foresight and unwavering commitment, Brian Slagel launched Metal Blade Records in 1982 at just 20 years old, after spearheading the legendary Metal Massacre compilations and running the fanzine The New Heavy Metal Revue. His label gave the world its first recorded Metallica, Slayer, and countless other genre-definers—creating a legacy that still fuels metal’s heartbeat today.
As CEO, he’s remained fiercely independent, navigating the label through distribution shifts, underground movements, and even major label pressure—always refusing to compromise creative integrity.
Lately, Brian has taken storytelling into new dimensions. His books—For the Sake of Heaviness and the recent Swing of the Blade—offer insider tales from four decades of metal history. The first feature a foreword by Lars Ulrich, while the latter dives deeper with personal anecdotes and cultural reflections.
But he didn’t stop at print. His new podcast, 100 Songs That Define Heavy Metal, dissects the genre's evolution using a tripartite format: historical insights, deep production dives, and voices from artists or fans. It's streamed globally and even tied to an upcoming Hulu docuseries, Into the Void.
In short, Brian Slagel is not just a label executive—he’s a curator, historian, and champion of metal’s past, present, and future.

We sat down with Ainsley at RockNPod in Nashville — she’s not just a singer-songwriter; she’s a global nomad turned storyteller, weaving heartbeats into melodies with warmth, wanderlust, and wonder.
Raised across the U.S., New Zealand, Chile, and Australia, Ainsley brings a richly textured sound to each song: a blend of folk intimacy, bluesy soul, pop clarity, and classic-rock roots—her voice carries the accents of her life’s journey. Drawn to rhythm and story, her music resonates deep, honest, and unforgettable.
Her single “Heartbeats” (June 2024) captures that magic — a song born from the "serendipitous first moment" she met her husband, where everything just clicked and moved in that unspoken rhythm.
Ainsley’s discography unfolds one spellbinding track at a time:
“Analog Spank” (2022)
“Heartbeats” & “It’s Christmas” (2023)
“Pretty” (2024)
“The Beast Is Coming” (April 2025) — her latest, hinting at bold new direction.
From intimate storytelling to sonic evolution, Ainsley’s music invites you into a world that’s warm, reflective, and quietly powerful.
