ਸੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਿਤੁ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥ Do thou only that by which filth may not attach to thee.

ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Gauri 5th Guru.
ਸੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਿ ਜਿਤੁ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ॥
Do thou only that by which filth may not attach to thee,
ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਮਹਿ ਏਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਜਾਗੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
and this soul of thine may remain awake in singing God's praises. Pause.
ਏਕੋ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਉ ॥
Meditate in the One Lord, and think not duality.
ਸੰਤਸੰਗਿ ਜਪਿ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥
In the guild of saints repeat only the Name.
ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਨੇਮ ਬ੍ਰਤ ਪੂਜਾ ॥
Rituals, duty, religious rites, fasting and worship,
ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਜਾਨੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੨॥
are all covered recognising none else in sans the Supreme Lord.
ਤਾ ਕੀ ਪੂਰਨ ਹੋਈ ਘਾਲ ॥
The toil those is approved,
ਜਾ ਕੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੩॥
whose affection is with his own Master.
ਸੋ ਬੈਸਨੋ ਹੈ ਅਪਰ ਅਪਾਰੁ ॥
Infinitely invaluable is that vegetarian,
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਨਿ ਤਜੇ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥੪॥੯੬॥੧੬੫॥
says Nanak; who renounced sins.
