Aalia was someone who Shameez grew up admiring and as they grew older the lines between cousin, older sister, and best friends started fading away. After her passing, Shameez started her journey with grief by remembering Aalia's positive energy, the sound of her laugh, their mutual love for Coldplay, and the daily conversations that made them both late for work. Shameez also tells us why her child continues to play such an important role in her healing process.
