It feels like only yesterday we were celebrating the end of 2020, and yet here we are already at the end of June! Over that time, lots of new films and TV shows have been released and there have been ample opportunities to discover new content. Rhys, Melanie, Sammy and Mike take a look at the new releases that have stood out so far including new films like The Map of Tiny Perfect Places, Godzilla vs Kong, Army of the Dead and Mitchells vs The Machines, some new TV series like It's A Sin, Love Death + Robots Vol 2, Shadow & Bone and Legends of Tomorrow Season 6. Lastly, we look at films we discovered for the first time in 2021, most notably Spontaneous (2020), Short Term 12 (2013), Local Hero (1983) and When Marnie Was There (2014).

This week we take a look back into the nostalgia-filled childhoods of Jack, Sammy, Mike, and Rhys as we delve into the childhood video games that kick-started our lifelong passions for all things nerd! Rhys is joined by Mike as we journey back in time through the history of Disney Animated films. Disney is obviously a household name in the 21stcentury. Holding a near Monopoly over the entertainment industry, it’s hard to watch a new release in cinema that isn’t owned or produced by the Big Mouse. Intrigued by how they became this successful, I decided to watch all 58 animated films, a genre which Disney is most well-known for. Having noticed Mike had started making his way through the films, I couldn’t miss this opportunity to ask him about these films.

We begin this watch-through at the very beginning, dubbed Disney's Golden Age! This includes Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), Pinocchio (1940), Fantasia (1940), Dumbo (1941) and Bambi (1942).

Now that we've got Justice League out of the way, we're going to lose all sense of focus, consistency or continuity so we can make what we want, whether people ask for it or not. Which in a strange coincidence also happens in the DCEU! This episode we look at the 4 remaining DCEU releases, Aquaman (2018), Shazam! Mike, Sammy and Rhys continue their journey through the DCEU by discussing two films that, despite containing the same plot, structure, actors and characters, couldn't be anymore different. We'll start with the film that was made second but that came out first, Justice League (2017) before delving into the mammoth film that is Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021).
