President Biden will call his “old friend,” Chinese Communist dictator Xi Jinping, today conveying – implicitly if not explicitly – an expectation that America thinks Xi can be persuaded to be helpful with Russia, climate change and perhaps other topics.

Sorry, wrong number.

There is literally no chance that the Chinese Communist Party will actually assist the United States on anything. Oh, Xi may tell Biden he’ll see what he can do, or even promise to mediate. But his interest lies with undermining America and its priorities, not supporting them – especially at the expense of his Russian strategic partner or economic growth that depends on despoiling the environment.

Even asking for the CCP’s help will embolden Xi. If anything, he can be expected to dictate terms to Joe Biden, a man his intelligence services have deeply corrupted and compromised.

Wrong number, indeed.
