This is the 5th installment of our container building #holidaysurvivalguides and #holidaytipsandtricks. We've been building for over a month now and things are getting (at least for me) more pressured, busy, and demanding on time, resources, and NOs and YESes. So let's talk about it- I don't want to pretend that I don't have days where I wonder where my boundaries went or wish I had not put so many things in my schedule, but I'm trying and using the tools, some days are just more taxing than others. In this episode, I will take us through a Somatic Experiencing exercise to help us hold and acknowledge that we have needs, wants, and desires those are human things and are normal - this exercise will help us sit with those needs, wants, and desires and express and perhaps release some of the tension that comes with not getting those met and also having them stored in our bodies. I hope you enjoy! Love, Angie

We have been building a container to handle the demands, pressures, expectations, and all around fuckupedness that can happen in this season, and this week we add another layer, level, or stabilizer to that container because most of us (me included) can use all the help we can get. We started with Building A Container For Tender Times (creating personal mantras for this season), then we Showed Up For Ourselves In Tender Times (making a list of what we’ve said yes to around this time of year and regretted and a list of what we wished we had done instead), and now slowing down when EVERYTHING else seems to be speeding up. How, where, and when can we add slowness to our lives without added work, time, and energy? Giving ourselves the little we need so we can be more ourselves than we’ve ever been before. I hope you enjoy this series and that it's helpful to you. I'd love to hear from you and the ways you are creatively looking at this time of year. Love, Angie

What someone thought was your biggest weakness might actually be your biggest strength. In my formative years, that thing in me was my sensitivity for others and the world and my love for the "other". My parents didn't get it and were embarrassed by it I was taught to hide it and be ashamed of it. It for them was a weakness that they considered my Kryptonite. They hated it (or at least that's how I interpreted it) unless they needed it- so I would watch out for my siblings, obey, fall in line easily, etc. That created confusion inside of me and made me hate something that was and is beautiful. What is your gift/superpower? What is the thing you've hidden away in embarrassment or shame? What is the thing that when you embrace it makes you feel the most welcome inside yourself? That's not your Kyriptonite that's your gift. In this episode, I will unpack my own fraught relationship with love and sensitivity and how I am letting it (or at least trying) take up more and more space. This isn't without boundaries! I've worked hard to trust the wisdom inside me and listen to its nudges. I hope you will too. Love, Angie
