Soul-filled Echoes — Companion Episode 5
What might the parable of the Sower and the Seed look like when it becomes a way of understanding a school community?
In this Companion episode of Soul-filled Echoes, Steve Nash speaks with Year 12 students from St Francis Xavier College, Beaconsfield, exploring the Gospel through the experience of young people nearing the end of their school journey.
Together they explore St Francis Xavier College as a faith community, and consider the different kinds of seed and soil that shape their lives and their roles within the school. What helps a seed to take root? What gets in the way? And what happens when we recognise that a seed already carries within it the possibilities for life?
The conversation then turns to a deeper question: How would we know if a school was genuinely living the message of the Sower and the Seed?
Rather than simply explaining the Gospel, this Companion episode listens for its echoes in the lived experience of young people — in relationships, community, growth, possibility and the kind of people a school hopes its students will become.
Soul-filled Echoes seeks to discover how the Sunday Gospel continues to speak in the ordinary places where life is being lived.
