People are concerned about the end times, especially when they think about their unsaved loved ones. They know that unbelievers will suffer the wrath of God on Judgment Day. Understandably, some Christians feel relieved knowing that they will be spared from all these. They believe that they will be "raptured" just before the Tribulation. But is this really God's plan? In the Book of Revelation, God shows us that the church is actually called to evangelize the world until the very end.

7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace 8 that he lavished on us. (Ephesians 1:7-8a)

Our guilt makes us feel ashamed before God. We also cannot draw near to Him because we are afraid that He will punish us. So we try so hard to be right, to be good. Some of us, of course, give up eventually because it is indeed so hard. It's like climbing a high mountain that never ends. We are always reminded of our failures and sins. Others also remind us. The devil reminds us. So, we are doomed to repeat the endless cycle of guilt, shame, and fear. Thank God that through Jesus Christ we can receive the free gift of forgiveness and reconciliation with God once and for all.

What Christ has done is more important than what we have done.

In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will — 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. (Ephesians 1:4b-6)

All of us experience some form of rejection from the time that we are young until the time that we become adults. We respond to this rejection in different ways. Some of us put up walls to protect ourselves from further rejection. Others become clingy and insecure, afraid of being rejected again and again. Only through the Gospel can we experience true acceptance and unconditional love from God once and for all.

Only in Christ are we truly accepted and loved unconditionally and eternally.

A lot of people, both old and young, love the experience of worship. They love the music, the look and feel of the stage, the walls, the ceiling, the floor, the lights, the crowds, etc. It's so exciting. Who wouldn't want to worship in that kind of atmosphere? But wait. Is that why we worship God?

We worship God for what He has done, is doing, and will do in our lives through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Today, many of our conversations, especially on social media, are shallow. They are usually about issues or concerns that often skim the surface of things. We don't really want to talk about what is truly important -- our relationship with God and His will for our lives. Whether with family or with friends, how can we put God at the center of our conversations again?

We need God-centered conversations that can restore people's focus on God.

It's easy to get scared when we think about the Book of Revelation. We tend to imagine all the terrifying things that could happen. There will be a lot of suffering, of course. But actually, this book is a blessing to us. It tells us that our suffering will not last forever. The Lord Himself will see to it. Why do we believe this?

Some people do not see the value of training in the Christian life. But it is essential. We need to train ourselves to be godly.

We need to be strong through the grace of God to thrive in these difficult times. Otherwise, we will not overcome. That requires having specific attitudes that would ensure victory rather than defeat. One such mindset is to be like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. But what does it mean? We need to reflect on this to understand its meaning and implications.

Do you sometimes feel that you cannot handle this prolonged pandemic anymore? Where will your strength come from? It will not come from you for sure. It will come from God through His grace. But how can we avail of that grace? Although grace is a gift from God, there are certain things we can do to posture ourselves to receive it.

Except for a few negative people, most people have some kind of hope. But not all hope is the same. Most people are just hoping for (or wishing for) a better situation. They are just hoping that the virus would go away and we will be able to finally go back to our normal way of living. But the longer it takes, this kind of hope often leads to frustration and eventually hopelessness. What kind of hope do we truly need? It's the kind of hope that the apostle Paul calls "the hope of the glory of God." (Romans 5:1-5) What does it mean?
