Jesus Sees the Hard to Reach ✨
Scripture:
John 3:1-2 (NIV)
“Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night 🌙 and said, ‘Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.’”
Explanation:
Nicodemus was a respected religious leader—knowledgeable 📚, moral ✨, and influential 👑. Yet he came to Jesus under the cover of night, curious but cautious 🤔. Jesus saw past his titles and defenses and engaged with him lovingly ❤️. While others might avoid people like Nicodemus—proud, religious, or hard to talk to—Jesus leaned in 🤝.
Application:
You might know someone who seems unreachable 🚧—strong-willed 💪, self-sufficient 🛡️, or skeptical 🤨. Instead of avoiding them, ask Jesus to help you see them with His eyes 👀❤️. No one is too high, too proud, or too difficult for God's love to reach 🌟.
Reflection Questions:
- Who in your life seems "too difficult" to reach for Christ? 🤷♂️
- How does Jesus’ approach to Nicodemus challenge your assumptions? 💭
- What would it look like to move toward, rather than away from, people like him? ➡️🤲
