During the last episode, TJ gave us several tips on how to raise our children so that may retain their faith throughout their secular education. On this short OT episode, we get personal with TJ and ask him the three questions we always ask our guests:
Today's episode features TJ Kirk of Freed-Hardeman University. Before TJ become an administrator in higher education, he worked in the public school system as an educator and administrator. Because of his background in education and ministry, TJ has a unique perspective on ways we can raise our children to be faithful Christians (K-College) in a culture that desperately wants them to leave their Christian upbringing.
This episode seeks to answer the following questions:
The book of Revelation has captured the curiosity of Bible readers since it was written. What should we make of all of the imagery in this book? How could we possibly understand what John was describing? How can we apply the book of Revelation to our lives?
On this episode, the Soul Training team describes the 4 schools of thought on how to read Revelation.
Other show highlights: Allen speaks about cults, Joe's pterodactyl story
Premillinialism... What does the term mean? Where is this doctrine found? Are those that believe premillinialism misguided?
There is a lot of confusion stemming from Revelation 20. Does this chapter mean Jesus will come to reign as a king over a physical kingdom for 1000 years? We don't believe so, but tune in to find out why!
Other show highlights: We're down one man for this episode.
Last season we did an episode with Bart Warren on how the New Testament came to be. Even thought it's been a while, it seemed to fiting to invite Bart back to speak on how the Old Testament was formulated and past down throught the ages.
This episodes tackles questions like:
1) What books SHOULD be included and why?
2) How did they preserve the books?
3) How do we know the Old Testament is accurate?
Other show highlights: Bart gets a major award, Joe is deputized!
What was life like before the Flood? Why did everyone live so long back then? On today's episode, we answer these sort of questions that were submitted by a listener. Another listener asked a questions about God's omnipotence and how that relates to Hell. We take on that question towards the end of the episode.
We realize this is a little early for a Valentine's Day episode, but is it really ever a bad time to talk about love? On today's episode, we speak about biblical love versus man's definition of the topic. Our intent, as always, is to clear up some misconceptions about our chosen topic and address what the Bible has to say. Join in the conversation as Allen, Daniel, and Joe give an early Valentine's Day episode to our listener base. How should Christians think about LOVE?
Other show highlights: That time Allen took his date to the rodeo
It's that time of year again... We get a chance to "start over" and correct bad habits or begin new and good habits. What should this opportunity mean to Christians? Often, we hear of resolutions like losing weight, but do we ever contemplate ways we can improve our spiritual life? Today's episode seeks to do just that! Listen as Allen, Daniel, and Joe give some ideas for Christian New Year's Resolutions.
Other show highlights: What's a pirate's favorite letter?
Merry Christmas from Soul Training! It's becoming a tradition for us to gift our audience with a re-issue of our most listened to episode of the year. This year's "gift" informs the listener on why the New Testament is the way it is. Why do we not look to the Apocrypha as scripture? Who decided what books should be in there?
Our special guest on this episode is Bart Warren.
Enjoy!
