What if the parts of yourself you have spent years trying to heal, release or remove were never the enemy? What if they were simply asking to be seen, understood and loved?

In this episode of the Soulful Valley Podcast, Katie welcomes spiritual teacher, healing facilitator and author Veronica Bath for an honest conversation about soul embodiment, shadow work and what can happen when we stop trying to bypass our feelings.

Veronica shares how a deeply difficult and abusive childhood placed her into survival mode from an early age. Although spirituality was not openly part of her upbringing, she remembers sensing a presence at night and searching for something that might help her feel safe.

Later in life, when Veronica found herself feeling profoundly lost despite having many of the things she had once wanted, that search returned. She explored Reiki, healing techniques, spiritual programmes and numerous certifications, yet gradually realised that learning more was becoming another form of distraction. Her spiritual world and everyday life remained separate, and the changes she experienced internally were not becoming fully embodied.

Katie and Veronica explore spiritual bypassing, why affirmations and traditional meditation did not create the transformation Veronica needed, and how fear kept her from feeling the emotions held within her body.

Veronica also explains the difference between the wounded healer and the inner healer, and why awakening the part of herself that was solely responsible for her own wellbeing changed everything.

They discuss dark nights of the soul, releasing the need to perform for others, reclaiming sensitivity as an empath, and loving our shadows into the light rather than attempting to cancel, delete or reject them.
