I know that’s not always going to be possible, things happen and it’s not always going to be sunsets, rainbows and unicorns, but try to make the best of every day. That’s why I’m going into a life of celebrancy, to celebrate my life and other people’s lives.

• Life, death, love, these are all things we’re automatically programmed to do, they’re things we should be celebrating but our minds are so bogged down with day-to-day tasks (work, money, bills) that the stress of that takes over. We start thinking with the mind more than the heart and we miss out on so much by doing that. Life is a journey and it’s to be enjoyed as much as we possibly can.

• Are you comfortable in not knowing? There’s something about us as humans where we’re not that comfortable with it, we like to have things mapped out, simple things like what we’re eating tonight, where we’re going on holiday, what time work starts in the morning, who you’re speaking to on Zoom that day. • Ignorance over the years has come to mean someone who is despised. But it’s also a choice, a deliberate act. You can choose to get involved in what’s going on in the US election, for example, form an opinion, change your mind, look again, or if you think it’s too demanding for your soul you can choose to think whatever happens over there happens and I have no influence.

• What is impossible to know when you’re 18 is how you body is going to be and how you are going to be physically. When you’re older we can all look back and think I wish I’d taken a bit more care or done some things differently.

• Looking back on my life it’s been a history of mostly bad mistakes. The thing I’d like to talk about is that I wish I’d paid attention to just how right my mother was when she would criticise and guide me away from the easy way.

Ultimately that paid off and I have changed my life quite a bit realising my mother’s wisdom.
• Choose something important to you, that you really like, want and need to do and pour your effort into that and master the toolsets that you need to acquire to achieve that. That’s where you need to focus your energy and your time, not on the easy way or route that people are promising results instantly, that’s bullshit.
• We’re fed the idea that wealth is the key to success and achievement. From one perspective, it can be. There are some people who highly value the opinion of others; they’re stuck in that materialistic paradigm. I learned that the world’s opinion matters very little in your personal life. The materialistic game that so many of us are taught to play is a rigged game that does not lead to happiness.

If you take the easy way what you’re doing is pouring your energy down a rat hole, it’s not gonna work because it’s sold by someone who’s benefitting in some way it’s not designed to help you.’‘Even though it’s not attractive, pretty, glittery or shiny that so many of us reach for, that stoic, rough, granite-like worldview is based solidly on reality and hard experience. Paul Kelly’s young parents divorced before he started primary school, resulting in him and his mother going to live with his loving grandparents.

From starting primary school, Paul was always a keen sportsman, excelling at swimming, football, chess and cricket, and after establishing himself as a regular in the Nottinghamshire (UK) cricket set-up, his grandmother decided to give him the opportunity to go to a private school to play his beloved sport, something he continued in Australia.

On his return to England, Paul was attacked after a night out and hospitalised, suffering temporary blindness, a double fractured skull and memory loss. After ten days in a coma, he awoke and started to try and rebuild his life; however, he encountered severe depression, suicidal thoughts, paranoia, and heavy drinking binges.

• I didn’t know how many people would still be with me or would have left me in this world, and I didn’t know how I’d feel about each one. I also didn’t know what I’d be doing now, or that my husband would say this on a regular basis: You’ve got an amazing talent, Sharon – pointing out the obvious!

As a child, I rarely found adults to answer my questions, so I became very curious, and I’d have discussions with myself to get clarity on what I wanted to do and achieve. • If you have a challenge, it’s obvious that by stepping into that challenge/problem/issue, that’s where the solution is. You cannot think yourself out of where you’ve acted yourself into. By stepping into the challenge, you’ve acted yourself there. The only way to get out of it is not the way that took you there, it’s a different way of thinking.

‘What may appear chaotic, confusing or something I may not know about, I either point out the obvious to myself or I ignore it because it’s not relevant to me.’

‘If people talk to me about their problems, I used to get myself in trouble because I’d point out the obvious, and I learned to keep quiet because it wasn’t for me to do that to people..’

‘I would often self-sabotage, I wasn’t aware that I was doing it but it was obvious from the outside and I was often told I was my own worst enemy.’

From 2001 to 2015, Sharon then focused on developing her complementary therapy practice and progressed to management roles in a large English local authority, developing thousands of learning and community programmes in the post-16 sector; working with hundreds of colleagues, tutors, trainers, sector specialists and community partners to enable tens of thousands of people to learn and develop a wide range of skills and interests. In 2017, Sharon and her husband began to follow another plan that of investing in property, to ultimately create greater choice in their lives, live their highest values, do what they love to do and always say at any point from then onwards…

After a lot of physical problems this I started to school myself on energy medicine, I learned there was a really strong message in that connection with that spider. In my ego mind I think it would have been great if that didn’t happen, but what would my life be like right now if I didn’t go down the path of studying energy medicine? What would I be missing if I didn’t have that experience?
• Spiders symbolize creation, transformation, balance, and harmony offering powerful healing qualities for mind body, and spirit. This happened just before a time when I had a great awakening, I think back to that spider energy medicine, and it was very appropriate for the time. It signaled a rebirth for me.
