Happy Sunday. Went on driving holiday around Australia a few months back and had a huge playlist of new and old playing as we drove. These are the tracks that bring back some great memories from the trip. If you haven’t done a driving trip in your own country before I’d highly recommend it. So stress free with no deadlines, no flights, no trains and no timetables. If you like somewhere you stay, if you dont, you just keep driving.

Sorry for the lateness in getting this up. Been having WordPress issues. Anyway, version VI is ready to go. A little bit darker than previous ones but still has that nice laid back acoustic vibe. I hope you like it.

OK, so some of you may already have this mix as I did it about a year ago, but I just realised that it isnt online. Somehow it fell throught the net when i had to change hosts. Anyway, here it is, one of my favourite Sunday Snoozes.

I am almost finished Sunday Snooze VI so keep and eye out for that. Plus I have about 50-60 new deep house vinyl’s so a Digging Deep is on the way also.

The latest in the Sunday Snooze series. This one is quit an acoustic trip. Lots of nice vocal tracks, some happy, some very, very sad. But all in all a nice journey. The person speaking in the beginning is non other that Damien Rice, a great Irish artist who has feature on most of the mixes in this series, talking about how he gets inspired. Words to live by. Enjoy.:

The third in the Sunday Snooze series. Going back to the original format compared to the weird and wonderful ambient Sunday Snooze II. This version is an exploration in great vocal acoustic songs. Lots of happy moments, simple lyrics with a strong message. Good to have in the background on a long Sunday drive in the country.

• (00:00) - Alucidnation - I’m not bad

The second in the Sunday Snooze series. This is quite a different route to the other Sunday Snooze mixes. It is very ambient, lots of soundscapes, sweeps and weird noises. But, it still manages to retain that relaxed spaced out vibe. I originally made it in 1999 but made a redux in 2002. It was made for those ‘chemical’ mornings where you want the daylight to go away so you can re-live the previous night. You can’t sleep, but you can fall into that state of paralysis between reality and god knows where…. Hence the name ‘chemical snooze’

• (00:00) - Tabula Rasa - Sunset At The Café Del Mar

The first in the Sunday Snooze series. Firstly, unlike the other mixes on soulshine, Sunday Snooze is more a mix tape, or a compilation of tracks that compliment each other. The series was inspired by that fantastic sound a simple guitar and a smokey atmospheric voice can make. Although it has a lot more than just that, it is the essence of most Sunday Snooze mixes. Many songs provoke different memories, good, bad, happy and sad. And they all trigger a chord for me. Wether it be a past girlfriend, and missed family member, or just a giggle at a stupid simple something. Best listened to on a warm sunny afternoon.
