In Psalm 1:2, the metaphor "delight in the law of the Lord" signifies a deep joy and satisfaction in God's teachings, which were central to the identity of the ancient Israelite community. The imagery of "meditates day and night" emphasizes an ongoing, intense focus on God's law, highlighting the importance of continuous reflection on Scripture as a means to integrate divine wisdom into daily life.

In 2 Corinthians 12:10, "delight" does not mean taking pleasure in pain or suffering itself, but rather finding joy and contentment in the midst of weaknesses, hardships, and difficulties because they serve a greater purpose in Christ. It reflects a deep trust in God’s sovereignty, knowing that these struggles allow His power to be displayed in your life. Paul had pleaded with the Lord to remove his "thorn in the flesh," but God responded with the assurance that His grace was sufficient. Instead of seeing his weakness as a burden, Paul chose to embrace it, knowing that it allowed Christ’s power to be more evident in his life.
