The past week has been a difficult week for many people who are aware of the recent developments regarding race relations across the globe. Therefore, this week, Sound On confronts the issue of Racism and Disobedience with Nick and Dylan. We discuss our thoughts on racism in general alongside the debate between the use of civil and uncivil disobedience in tackling racism. We address difficult questions such as does violence betray the cause of anti-racist movements and what more can we do to end racism. We take an approach that addresses racism on all fronts, including in Malaysia and Indonesia, while also touching on whether vernacular schools contribute to the problem of racist stereotypes in Malaysia. This week's episode of Sound On revolves around the topic of self-love where we discussed with our friend Hui Yen why we often feel like we're never good enough. Hence, we decided to touch on the effects of peer pressure, social media and validation-seeking behaviours. We also shared our thoughts on physical alterations like plastic surgery and why self-love isn't very often discussed among men. Additionally, we shared our personal ways of discovering self-love and our identities with the hope that this may help anyone out there who needs ideas for their journey towards self-love

In the second episode of Sound On, Melissa and Chris led a detailed discussion on how the world is coping with COVID-19. Joining them were Ashvin and Nick who provided a student perspective of how the fields of engineering and politics have responded to the pandemic. Melissa also provided a student perspective on how the bioscience field has responded to the pandemic alongside explaining the development of a vaccine. Melissa, Chris, Nick and Ashvin then touched on whether the easing of the Movement Control Order (MCO) in Malaysia is premature.
