Before we go away for the Holidays we wanted to bring you a special interview, with some amazing folks. Last year we had a great interview with Brian of Gaslight Anthem. It was rather impromptu (I just ran after him on the street screaming, “Brian!”, at the fest). A lot has happened in that last year, they’ve toured a ton, put out fifty million versions of their vinyl records, signed to Side One Dummy and (as of Tuesday) played on Conan O’Brien. Needless to say we were more than a little excited to talk to Alex, Alex and Benny. These guys are totally awesome and it’s been fun to seem them grow, and they’ve kept a good damn sense of humor about it along the way.

Remember when we did the Warped Tour show and I interviewed a ton of bands that I knew nothing about? Well, these next couple of weeks are nothing like that. I recently went to The Fest, in Gainesville, and had a chance to talk to some artists I’ve known and loved for a long time. First up is the amazing Austin Lucas.

Austin is a folk singer who used to (and still does occasionally) front crust and grind bands. Despite that odd history, Austin is very much a traditional folk musician. His father, Bob Lucas, played traditional folk and taught Austin the music as a child. Now that he’s come into his own, Austin plays soulful folk, with enough punch to attract even the most jaded punk. Many people know Austin for his album with Chuck Ragan, Bristle Ridge, but Austin is very much a talented and accomplished musician in his own right. Please check out the show and learn more about this awesome musician.

Welcome to this very special Halloween edition of Sound Scene Revolution. What makes it Halloween-like? Well, I’m wearing a dress for one, but that could just be called “The Third Week of the Month” Edition. Anyhow, we’re also taking this week to talk with a very special artist mc chris (lowercase no dots, rewind). You may know him as Chris Ward, Hesh from Sealab, or even MC PeePants from Aqua Teen Hunger force. He’s truly an mc of many faces and costumes (see “Halloween”, bitches!).

We might actually manage two updates in a row folks! I know, I’m not only surprised but a bit disappointed in the slacker in me. I guess he just didn’t have what it took to miss another week. Anyhow, if we’re gonna be unlazy we might as well go big and have an interview with and awesome band, Look Mexico. These kids are actually from Florida, so I don’t even think they can see Mexico…So maybe there’s a metaphor in there, who knows? They get compared to American Football a lot (the band not the sport that harbors dog fighters), and that can’t be a bad thing. So enjoy the songs and the interview.

No new contest this week but we did wrap up the Against Me! Self-titled 12″ EP contest. So listen to find out if you won, and then start writting me to complain that your prize isn’t arriving fast enough.

We’re back folks with probably our best podcast this week! Our show today is a double dose of Warped Tour Madness featuring The Bronx and (for the third time) Against Me!. We couldn’t be more excited as we talk with Matt, of The Bronx, about their two new albums and the insanity of Bronx vinyl. We were even more stoked to talk to Warren of Against Me!. The boys of AM! weren’t doing interviews that day, but we pulled some strings and managed to land a quickie with Florida’s favorite drummer/beard patron.

We also have a really exciting contest that we’ll be running for the next couple of weeks. One lucky winner will get a copy of Against Me!’s S/T 12″ EP.
