I was brought up in an era when pastors were taught two specific things about retirement:

* We were to preach/Pastor until we dropped dead

* We would be best off to opt out of Social Security because it would be bankrupt before we could use it

Times have changed.

 

Children should be conceived in a loving home, nurtured in a Christian environment and taught to give God their victories and their defeats.

 

This article goes on to suggest that, “As today’s youth adapt to changing religious views while still holding curiosity towards the uncertain, the need for a new religion becomes apparent” and offers pantheism as that new religion.

The offer is in my opinion, laughable because, all through the article, we are told that pantheism is an ancient religion. Hey, I know! Let’s take an old religion, call it a new religion and maybe young, confused people will buy into it from us!

Revival preaching services continue to be well attended. We have had guests in each of our services as well as a very good showing of our own members.

Bro Males’ preached on the ministry of the Holy Spirit in providing joy, empowering evangelism and effecting change in the believer.

The altar call was answered with numbers of souls on their knees before the Lord.

Thus far two have presented themselves for believers baptism.

The problem seems so obvious doesn’t it? The gnat and the camel are of such different proportions, who could not tell which was the more challenging to swallow? Trouble was, they were blind. They could not see the obvious.

The service was well attended.

The congregational singing was spirited and full of joy.

The altar was filled as Christians knelt in holy dissatisfaction.

We have had a  great start to our revival preaching services.

The thing about religion (and for that matter, law in general) it operates from the position of guilt. It assumes the guilt of the individual and acts accordingly. Every new rule it creates, every function it performs, is built upon the presupposition that its adherents are guilty.

The first recourse in correcting error is to get people to read the Bible for themselves. We need to get people to put down the books about the Bible and turn off the programs where others teach the Bible and invest some significant time into personally studying the Bible.
