The players and owners are supposed to meet today and while the lockout continues, the Mets are getting their on field staff in order. General Manager Billy Eppler and Manager Buck Showalter talked with the media about those new hires, and their plans for spring training, whenever that may come to fruition.

On July 9th, Keith Hernandez, the legendary 1986 Mets first baseman and, to this generation, beloved SNY commentator will have his number retired at Citifield. He will become the fourth Mets player to have his number retired in a ceremony that has been hoped for by many Mets fans for a long time. Howie Rose and Wayne Randazzo spoke with "Mex" on a zoom call and he talked about this honor and his history with #17. He also reminisced about his career and some untold stories of his eventual trade to the Mets.
