Lionel Barrymore was the Best Ebenezer Scrooge.  A Christmas Eve Tradition is alive again now on Sounds Like Radio.  Lionel Barrymore, the definitive Scrooge, used to do perform this show every year on radio and he’s back again on this Sounds Like Radio Christmas Special!  Enjoy for yourself this Orson Welles production that I’ve listened to EVERY Christmas Eve for years and years.  It’s a classic.

Who better to create som weird suspense, why Peter Lorre that's who. From December 23, 1943 listen to this classic story starring Peter Lorre presented to you by Your Humble Host. That's Peter in our picture with this show getting ready to clobber Sydney Greenstreet as Santa! I don't want to give any more away, you'll have to hear it.

A really neat and unusual Christmas story for you today. Parker Fennelly the "Howdy Bub" & Peppridge Farm remembers guy stars in a story he wrote himself.   From December 21, 1940 Your Humble Host happily brings you this "Listener's Playhouse" production of "Christmas At Crumps".   A little girl visits an old crotchety man on Christmas Eve and magic happens.   A really wonderful tale here and quite moving too.   Listen and enjoy this Christmas treat from the Library of Sound Volume 264.

From Volume 71 of the Vast Library of Sound comes a really nice Christmas story as told to you by none other than Boris Karloff! But this is NOT the Grinch story, no sir, today Boris is going to tell us all about The Year Without A Santa Claus!  Not many people are even aware that Boris also told this Christmas story too.  And told like no one else can, listen to this wonderful story teller and gather the kids for this one, it’s for all the family.  

That, by the way is Boris Karloff himself in today's picture for this show as he's dressed as Santa making a Yuletide Call.  Your Humble Host hopes this adds to the wonders of Christmas joy just a bit more.
