Tracy Lane, owner of the Roots and Blues Festival in Columbia, MO and writer of the The Listening Gallery blog, is our guest this week to discuss the hit soundtrack to the 1980 Robert Greenwald film, Xanadu, which is considered by some to be one of the worst films of all time. Tracy discusses falling in love with the soundtrack and film at an early age, especially since it literally paired two of her favorite artists, Olivia Newton-John, and Electric Light Orchestra. We discuss the reputation of the film, how it helped inspired the creation of The Golden Raspberry Awards (aka “The Razzies”), and many of the very memorable scenes from the film, both good and bad.
