Metalmadeira II reimagines percussionist Marco Bosco’s groundbreaking 1983 album, a work that fused Brazilian percussion traditions with the emerging language of electronic music. Four decades later, Curitiba’s Alter Disco breathe new life into the record, working directly from Bosco’s original recordings to craft bold reinterpretations. By weaving vocoders, percussion, and atmospheric synths into Bosco’s timeless framework, they bridge generations and highlight the album’s enduring influence. The result is both preservation and progression — a project that honours a visionary while extending his innovations into today’s electronic landscape.

Paula Juana introduces Wrong Way Up's new EP for her first Soho Radio show.

Born out of a deep love for the dancefloor, Wrong Way Up channels vintage Afro disco and psychedelic boogie to bring a new kind of heat.

Paying homage to Frances Bebey, William Onyeabor and Lijadu Sisters, the Melbourne-based Afro-synth duo delivers energetic melodies, deep grooves and addictive chants. Featuring quirky synthesizers and 1970s drum machines, the EP is a sonic landscape that feels fresh and unique.

Wrong Way Up is vocalists/songwriters Emmanuela Degery and ADP.
