Our fathers are a part of our lives, good or bad. God is our eternal father. No matter what happens, no matter how far we stray, he will always be there for us. When we turn to him, he will always welcome us, for the first time or again, with open, loving arms.

As we get older as disciples, it can be easy to forget why we started doing all this in the first place. Remembering why we fell in love with Jesus and God's word will help us to make it in the long run.

Jesus' mission was to reach all the world with the word of God. That is our mission as disciples as well. In today's world, money is needed, which is why we give to support the mission work of the church.

When people normally run, its an individual sport. Spiritually, we are all running together and can encourage and strengthen one another during the long miles.

Jesus teaches in the gospel that he is the Good Shepherd. He defines that as one who cares for, loves, and lays down his life for his flock. At the same time, he calls us to do the same. Are we willing to take up the mantle and be the good shepherd of whomever calls us to be?
