We go Eastside Craaaazy and converse with thee homegrown humanitarian, local southeast liason and independent businesswoman, Lilly Rivera!
We discuss growing up in our beautiful 10th ward, thee environmental issues, past and present, leftover trauma we face, our mental health as a community and outlets, such as angelic lettuce, we can utilize to help our mental and physical health.
Lilly states that her love for community yet lack of positive communal information pushed her to ask more questions which inevitably landed her employment at The Invert - which has plans to bring positive change, jobs, and environmental restoration to thee area.
Her personal mission to bring beauty, love, awareness, and positive outlets to our community continues!
We make CE-5 Contact with one thee best storytellers, an amazing teacher, a well knowledged historian, local and passionate documentarian, Steven J Walsh!
Steven brings along a beautiful human, independent soul, and freelance artist, Izzy Ortiz!
Together, we discuss our community upbringing, how our environmental factors play a huge role on our physical/mental health as individuals but also thee mental health of a community. Paralleling Plato's Cave, we discuss leaving our caves, educating ourselves, exploring earth, and returning to thee tribe to share that info with our shared circles. We discuss gender/identity, pronouns, trauma, ptsd, and navigating through today's times as an artist.
Steve is one of thee pioneers and advocates of this new "Renaissance" and recalls thee fall of Rome and its similarities to our steel mills closing and thee tragic ripple effect left behind. He discusses how through tragedy, a beautiful story is currently being written and there is truly a new hope coming to fruition!!!!
Christa and Mike go over the ins and outs of the inaugural South By SouthEast Fest! Didn't get to go? We'll cover what you missed!
