Known as “The Meanest Man in America,” Gaskins terrorized the Pee Dee with a spree of murders that left a haunting legacy. Today, we’ll explore his shocking crimes, the twisted mind behind them, and the impact his dark path had on his victims and the state of South Carolina.  Also, from swamp-dwelling beasts to spectral creatures of the night, South Carolina is packed with tales of cryptids that defy logic and ignite the imagination. And later, the headmistress of a strict boarding school made it her life’s work to keep her students in check. But after one rebellious girl eloped in the middle of the night, Madame Talvande made sure to give the school a prison-like feel in hopes that something like that wouldn’t happen again. They say her spirit haunted the halls long after her passing, eager to punish any girls who stepped out of line.
