Hidden away in the woods of northern Greenville County stands Poinsett Bridge, a stone Gothic bridge built nearly two centuries ago. During the day, it’s a piece of South Carolina history. But when the sun goes down, the stories begin. Strange lights moving through the woods. Voices and screams with no obvious source. Shadowy figures. And legends claim that those who died during the bridge’s construction may still remain there. Some stories say the land itself was already sacred. Others say the dead were buried within the bridge. And some people who have visited after dark swear they experienced something they simply can’t explain. In this episode, we’re heading into the woods of the Upstate... to Poinsett Bridge. Because when the stories have been passed down for generations, the question isn’t just “Is this place haunted?” The question is… “What exactly is still there?” Plus, we'll meet the female ghosts of Charleston’s Unitarian Church Cemetery.  Also, I'll read a short story about two sisters who take the life of a miner in order to steal his gold. And just when they thought they were in the clear, he returned. And this time, he wasn't looking for his stolen gold.

We truly have it all regarding the unexplained here in South Carolina: the best ghost stories, haunted hotels, creepy cryptids, and so much more. One thing we can add to that list is…haunted roads.
