Spy chiefs in an American-led intelligence-sharing group have played down a split among member countries over the Chinese telecom giant Huawei.

The Daily Telegraph reported that the United Kingdom – part of the Five Eyes spying alliance with the United States, Australia, Canada and New Zealand – agreed on Tuesday to allow Huawei to build noncore parts of the country’s 5G system.
