SOUTH JERSEY HORROR

"The Flock" (2022) Written & directed by Dillon Brown

Here’s the pulse: While on a journey to find a mysterious cult, three young people encounter a plot to raise a demonic entity. Hot on their trail is a team of mercenaries with a similarly mysterious background, hellbent on taking down anyone involved.

The movie is not available yet for public viewing, I was invited for a private screening.

The Queen of Black Magic takes place in an orphanage in rural Indonesia where all these adults (once orphans) come back because the house master, Mr. Bandi,  is on his death bed. However, their happy reunion is soured by a series of sinister happenings that only get worse as the orphanage’s dark secrets come to life.

But it’s not just a more straightforward story that makes this an enjoyable film. The Queen of Black Magic is a masterclass of mounting dread, with the situation becoming worse and worse for the characters until it builds into a climax that is literally hellish.

This is one of the very few Indonesian horror movies that are very good and not boring to watch. The movie truly does deliver quality horror and very creepy moments rather than just low-cost jumps cares. It makes you feel terrified and disgust, screaming out of the sheer horror and to beg help for the unfortunate characters of the movie.

Unable to turn down a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to buy their dream house for nothing, Keira and Brian Woods move into a vast, lavish, fully-furnished Irish manor in the city's suburbs. As their sulky teenage daughter Ellie and her younger brother Steven wander around the cold rooms of their eerily vacant new home, suddenly, an intriguing wind-up gramophone in the living room catches their attention. And, without a doubt, there must be more treasures hidden in plain sight. But who knows what lies behind the kids' peculiar behavior? What dark, hair-raising wonders lurk in the cellar? -www.imdb.com

Here's the skinny: The cast and crew involves of three performers — two women and a man, the classic heterosexual porn ratio — a director, a technician and a swaggering tycoon who claims the title of executive producer.

IMDB - In  1979, a group of young filmmakers set out to make an adult film in  rural Texas, but when their reclusive, elderly hosts catch them in the  act, the cast find themselves fighting for their lives.

In 19th-century France, a man arrives in a remote country village to investigate an attack by a wild animal. However, he soon discovers a much deeper and sinister force that has the manor and the townspeople in its grip.

This bonus episode is about Aileen "Lee" Carol Wuornos, America's first female serial killer... Wuornos confessed to the murder of  all six men, claiming that she was picked up by the men when she was  working as a highway prostitute, and shot them in self defense after  they attempted to sexually assault her. Wuornos was convicted of the  murder of Richard Mallory after a jury trial in Volusia County and was  sentenced to death. At trial, the State was allowed to introduce similar  crimes evidence about Wuornos' commission of several other murders.  While on death row, it was discovered that Mallory had previously served  time for Attempted Rape. Wuornos pleaded no contest to the murders of  the other 5 men and was sentenced to death in each case.
