Week 2 of Mark will take us through Mark 1:21-45. Mark will continue zipping us along through the beginning of Jesus’ ministry. If you were to describe the primary focus of Jesus’ earthly ministry, how would you describe it? In this passage, we’ll see what Jesus thought of his primary focus and how he lived that focus out.

We’ll begin our new series looking at the Gospel according to Mark this week! That means we’ll be spending most of the next year walking through this book. This week we’ll start at the very beginning where we see how the way was prepared for Jesus, then move to the inauguration of Jesus’ ministry. Unlike the other Gospel accounts, Mark gives us very little detail about Jesus’ birth and instead chooses to dive right in! Throughout this Gospel, we’ll see much attention given to who Jesus is and what it means to follow after Him.

I decided to expand our “Theological Tune Up” series by one more week to deal with everyone’s favorite dinner table topic: money. What does the Bible say about money, how do we faithfully use money, and why do churches talk about “tithing”? This week we’ll be taking a look at a number of passages that talk about money and help us understand why God cares so much about what we spend our money on.
