At the International Builders Show in January, the National Association of Home Builders unveiled research showing that homes completed in 2010 averaged 2,377 square feet, a 3 percent drop from 2009. And that trend is expected to persist through 2015, when the average home size is expected to measure 2,152 square feet.

This marks a significant reversal of a three-decade trend, which peaked in 2007 at 2,521 square feet.

His father, the American Teddy Mayer, was the co-founder of McLaren Racing and it's team principal until the 1980s, then becoming Vice-Chairman of Penske Racing into the 2000's.
