Recorded on September 16, 2024, at the dogtrot on the Way Out West Deck, this is the sound of a nighttime breeding chorus of Southern Leopard frogs brought to life by cooler temperatures and recent heavy rains. The frogs' calls are accompanied by the soothing white noise of crickets and katydids. Earlier rain showers blanketed the pasture in fog, dispersing the sound, while moonlight refracted off ice crystals in thin cirrus clouds above, creating a stunning 22° halo around the harvest moon.
